Yeah the info on this device is pretty scarce... it seems you would SMS the number associated with the sim card to "login" to the tracker. Then you can give it commands and such but it seems to be a challenge to get the thing to work.

On top of all that I'm a little perturbed as to why you would need such a device. This doesn't appear to be a toy...

I believe that my girlfriend is cheating on me.

You have to forgive me, but knowledge in this area is very limited. I switched cell phone carriers, but still have the SIM card from my old phone. Am I correct to assume that this SIM card is no longer active?

Would my current cell phone carrier just give me another SIM card, or would there be some sort of catch?

I can't tell you how the SIM card really plays in to this whole thing either. What I've been able to glean from the internet is vague at best.

Before you go all Spy vs. Spy on your lady I would sit back and think all this through. If you really believe she's doing you wrong then it's time to cut bait... By using a device like this you may be breaking several laws and incarceration is TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT!!!

My most heartfelt advice is this... send that tracker back and get your money. Keep an eye on your lady's behavior. If it's way beyond the norm, move on.
