Is LaToya Looking To Profit Off Michael's Kids?

What are her alleged plans?

By Pop Spy -- Kat 3 hours ago
Rex Features

Michael Jackson spent years keeping his three kids literally under wraps, covering them up in scarves and masks whenever they ventured out in public. But since the King of Pop's 2009 death and last year's custody drama involving family matriarch Katherine Jackson, the trio has grown more comfortable in the spotlight: Prince, 16, just started a correspondent gig on "Entertainment Tonight" and landed a role on "90210," while Paris, 14, happily shares her day-to-day life on Twitter and is launching a movie career.

But have they come out their shell only to become part of a moneymaking scheme plotted by one of their late father's siblings?

The New York Post claims their aunt, erstwhile psychic and Playboy poser La Toya Jackson, "moved in" on the kids during last summer's family feud and set herself up as a confidant.

"They needed comfort with everyone showing their wild side, so they watched television together, they listened to music and they talked about what Mike would want," says a source. "Mostly, it was Toya doing all the talking."

One of the alleged topics of conversation: signing Prince, Paris and 10-year-old Blanket to her nascent talent agency, Ja-Tail Enterprises, of which they are the only clients (there they all are last October, shilling for an energy drink -- dour-faced Blanket seems to know the score).

Word is, La Toya is close to locking down a reality show that would feature her with the siblings and their grandma, Katherine. Oprah's OWN is reportedly interested in the series, and bidding is said to have reached the $10 million range.

"She pounced while everyone else was making a lot of useless noise. It was her smoke screen, and she got it done," contends the insider. "She told them how she knew [Michael] better than anybody else, and she knew he'd want them to follow their dreams; and because they were his children, they could be media and entertainment moguls. She had a blueprint. She sold it, and they bought it."

According to the paper, Paris isn't too keen to go the reality route, but that may not slow down La Toya's purported plans, especially with a 15 percent commission on the line.

"Prince wasn’t exactly eager to do 'ET,' but could you tell?" notes the source. "When the money is on the line, Toya is going to cash in. I wouldn't bet against her."

Alot of people are. Just look at that picture, three kids promoting some cheap energy drink. Blanket's face...

Prince & Paris are teens and seem outgoing so of course they'd enjoy this ride... they may want to have careers in the spotlight, but if any family should know what fame at a young age does to a person, it's Michael Jacksons. But Michael's family don't seem to mind letting them fly around the world promoting things. It's like a parallel universe, pre June 2009 and since.

Don't forget these are the same women who cooperated in the 1970s TV variety show. Pushing children onto a reality show or Entertainment Tonight for a buck makes total sense to them.

Blanket is the youngest and always seems to look like he needs to take a poop, or giving the side-eye to someone.

Hate to judge someone so young, but I just think Blanket would be hamming it up more often if he was as interested in participating as Latoya (Energy drink shilling) or Katherine (appearing on Oprah) would have us believe.

Everyone was curious as to what LaToya was up to because she was scarily quiet during that difficult time when the family was trying hard to keep the family intact.

So you can look at it two ways; Either LaToya, knowing that the children want to be in the entertainment business, is being the wisened guiding hand, or she seized an opportunity during the difficulties.

That Blanket is the only one in that family who shares his father's sense of mystery. That's why he's so damn cool.

as i posted before, the really sad part of this is EVERYONE KNOWS that the line of bull she is shoveling to these kids is false. mj was still sad about the pain he felt growing up in the spotlight, based upon the tape played at murray's trial of him talking while he was under sedation.

but mj's kids likely never heard that tape b/c they, along with latoya, that useless, so-called guardian tj, and the opportunistic jackson brothers were too busy in wales putting on a "tribute" concert even as mj's sadness was ringing out in that courtroom. what a bloodless group of assh****.

i hate to say it, but i don't think prince and paris are going to turn out any better than latoya herself. what exactly is latoya's claim to fame? oh yeah, she's mj's sister. no talent of her own, just the one who rides his coat tails the hardest. if they're so smart, then these kids should know that the interest in them is based on their father, nothing else. i'm sure they know, in spite of what their aunt is telling them, that mj would NOT want this for them. he made them wear masks in front of the parapazzi - have they forgotten that? after four short years, they've been manipulated by everyone around them and they don't care about their father anymore. they're out for themselves, just like their auntie was circa 1988-95. she's taught them well. neutral

they're in for a really, really, really rude awakening if they think that latoya is going to manage them into anything legit. she's not legit, so how is going to make them legit? just b/c mj was their father, doesn't mean that people are going to embrace them. look no further than lisa presley, or even the rest of the jacksons. if anything, people's heads are already shaking their heads in shame, sadness and pity for them, and for mj. that's not a good way to start your "career".

All this negative publicity Latoya is gettin done made her mad lol

La Toya Jackson Slams NY Post, Nixes Jackson Reality Show

A recent article claims the “gold-digging diva” has signed Michael Jackson’s three children to her Ja-Tail talent agency and earning a 15 percent commission.

La Toya Jackson is firing back at The New York Post, calling a recent article on her relationship with Michael Jackson's three children “false” and “derogatory.”

On Sunday, the publication reported that the 56-year-old had quietly begun to profit on the showbiz ambitions of the late singer’s children, signing them as the only clients of her Ja-Tail Enterprises talent agency and collecting a 15 percent commission on Paris Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson’s respective deals.

While Paris recently inked a movie deal which will have her shooting in London later this year, Prince Michael has been named a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight and will make his acting debut on The CW’s recently canceled 90210.

The article referred to La Toya as a “gold-digging diva” and claimed that she “pounced” while the rest of the family was engaged in a bizarre feud last summer.

It was also reported that La Toya is currently in the process of shopping a Jackson family reality series, and that Oprah Winfrey’s OWN was thought to be the front-runner in a $10 million bidding war.

Below is La Toya’s response in full, submitted to The Hollywood Reporter by publicist Juliette Harris:

“The story in The NY Post is completely and unequivocally false. Neither La Toya nor her company represent any of MJ’s children in any legal capacity nor has she received any commissions or payment as a result of their individual ventures. As a loving Aunt, when the children ask for help or advice she supports them 100%, and will continue to do so.

Furthermore, there is no shopping of a reality show for the children. Paris did her movie deal over a year ago directly with the production company and La Toya had nothing to do with it. Over the past year, Prince has continuously asked his Aunt for her help in starting his career because of the infrastructure she has. When she asked her nephew what he wanted for his birthday he replied, "He just wanted to work," It was at the time that she diligently started to assist him with his career and that's when Entertainment Tonight was booked and then 90210.

La Toya is currently consulting with her attorneys on how to proceed against these false and derogatory statements made by The NY Post and other participating publications.”

falloff @ this pathetic statement that Latoya her publicist wrote. This statement reads like more of Latoya's classic BS lies (probably because it was written by her). Prince continuously asking her for help in starting his career? spit And when she asked him what he wanted for his birthday he replied that he "just wanted to work?" rolleyes disbelief

Such a DISGRACE! LaToya is trying to pimp these kids like that ex-husband/manager pimped her. She's been tainted even further now with that Evil, Bigoted, money lovin' Donald Trump.

Poor Blanket or Prince Michael II. He always looks like he knows their current lifestyle is wrong, wrong , wrong.

That Paris is going to end up hurt by the Hollywood machine. She's cute but if she shows any talent it will be 'presented' and accepted like the other talentless reality show originated actresses.

Oh and Prince Michael I........'How U Doin'?!! cool

ThankUPrince!

Prince Jackson sports bloody gash on his first day of work on 90210 set... days after it was cancelled

By Daily Mail Reporter

|

As he arrived on the 90210 set for his first day of filming, Prince Jackson was surely feeling excited.

After all, it's not every day you land a guest spot on a popular TV series.

Sadly for the teen it's unlikely there will be a repeat experience - the teen drama has been cancelled.

Prince, 16, arrived on the Los Angeles set in a white T-shirt and jeans, his long hair brushed back.

He then spent some time in make-up, having an ugly gash painted onto his face.

His visit certainly seemed to cheer up the crew, who were seen smiling as they welcomed him.

Prince's role will be one of the last they film - after stars Michael Steger, AnnaLynne McCord, Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds, Jessica Stroup, Jessica Lowndes and Matt Lanter paid a final farewell to the show after five series last week.

But the stars made sure to drop in on Prince while he was filming - they were pictured smiling as they filmed a few last scenes.

Also there was Brooke Anderson of Entertainment Tonight, who interviewed the teen about his role.

Jackson will be portraying a trauma victim in the triage area of an accident scene.

Prior to filming his scene, Jackson revealed to Anderson that he prepared for his role by running his lines with his cousins, the director and his aunt.

It was announced last week that 90210 will come to an end on May 13, with TV Line reporting that ratings had slipped from a million viewers to under 600,000.

As the son of the late singer Michael Jackson Prince grew up in the limelight, but this is his first acting role.

He was joined on set by his watchful aunt, LaToya Jackson, who is working as his manager.

According to the New York Post, Prince, 16, Paris, 15, and ten-year-old Blanket are the only clients of her new talent agency Ja-Tail Enterprises, with LaToya taking 15per cent of royalties.

And insiders tell the paper LaToya is hawking a proposed reality show featuring the trio, with bidding led by Oprah Winfrey's OWN network at $10million.

The 56-year-old was at Prince's side as he made his debut as Entertainment Tonight's 'special correspondent' last week.

And his sister is slated to shoot her first movie later this year in London.

LaToya's involvement in her niece and nephew's lives comes after many members of her extended family were barred from the Calabasas home of the trio last year.

Latoya Jackson came out swinging Monday following a report that she is managing the kids’ careers and was close to persuading Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network to cough up $10 million for a show staring Paris, Prince and Blanket.

The siblings will appear in one episode of LaToya’s own reality show, “Life with LaToya,” which makes its debut April 13.

College should be REQUIRED for these kids. They are not biological Jacksons therefore that 'talent' gene has not been passed on to them. But who needs talent these days in the entertainment business.
