Can a dog take immodiumAD? Our husky left a very unpleasant mess in my upstairs hallway overnight.
Huskies tend to have sensitive digestive tracks. I know that dogs can take some OTC meds, but is immodiumAD one of them?

Absolutely check with a vet or research online. It would be terrible if you poisoned your dog unnecessarily. Aspirin can be fatal in some animals, especially cats, although this doesn't apply to your animal, but I would check, just to be safe. If his trots continue, take him to the vet pronto. Something more serious could be going on. | |

We're going out of town on Wed and I need to get him better poor guy. No as some breeds can have a terrible reaction to it. It can also cause bloat in large breeds. I would only give if a vet prescribes but normally they prescribe other products. If it is bad then no food for 24hrs, also put dioralyte (pedialyte or lactade) in water bowl. Then give chicken and rice till tum settles and a good probiotic and prebiotic. Some vetinary products that will help: Protexin professional - good bacteria/probiotic Lactade - oral rehydration pedialyte - oral rehydration for children that you can give to dogs. Pro Kolin - for long term gastrointestinal conditions Natural remedies: Tree barks powder (slippery elm) - good for long term use for animals pron to gastrointestinal conditions. For bad days up dose by an extra 5ml spoonful. Live yoghurt - has good healthy tum bacteria. 1 large tablespoon put on food. Manuka honey - 1 tablespoon in water, natural antibiotic and replaces sugars lost due to upset tum. If very bad go to vet, if not dog should return to healthy tum within 48 to 72 hours if you follow the above.  x

poor doggie. hope he's better soon. you vet might know a dog hospital that can kennel him and administer meds. good luck | |

Nawww! I would never just try it.
It appears to be stress related this time. No more liquid surprises so far.
He will have someone with him while we are gone and we have left her with the info and resources to take care of him. I'm firmly planted in denial |

Doggie diarrhea?
get a doggie bowl and give the doggie a dinner of equal parts of pureed pumpkin and boild chicken breast.
Feed doggie ONLY that (homemade is best) until stool hardens and he is poopin normally again.
If tyhe doggie has pain, then feed him a dandelion flower. Dandelion is a natural pain killer for dogs.
