It was years later. I saw his photo on the front page of a national newspaper and called my ex, it was the running guy - the article confirmed his name and location.
What gave me chills was that I remember the running guy had a cat called Boofhead but one day he had a terrified cat with him called Coco who he told me belonged to his mum but she was unable to look after the cat anymore. We couldn't coax
Coco down from a window ledge.

When I lived in SC and my children were young, they had a school friend who used to come over and play with them. He used to always buy my daughter candy and when he was younger he used to come and empty my trash for $1. As they grew older this young man used to hang around my daughter and her friends. We all thought he was an okay guy. One day he was supposed to come over to the apartment and buy my daughter and her best friend pizza but he didn't show up.

The next day we heard on the news that he'd been arrested. There was a little 6yo girl we all knew who'd been missing for a week. Apparently he'd abducted her from the school-bus stop, raped her and killed her. He'd hidden her under his bed in a trunk and his own mother found the body because she smelled something. I think he was about 15 then. Talk about shocked... eek eek eek

I still remember that little girl's face. sad

All this time this kid was in my house and seemed so nice. You're right...you just never know. neutral

That reminds me, the 13 year old boy next door repeatedly touched my sister inappropriately when she was 7. He may have digitally penetrated her and at least one other girl in our street :-(

I remember him as a bratty late-bloomer (his voice didn't break for another 4 years) but my sister remembers him as a scary big person.

MacDaddy

On Queensday 2009, a guy tried to ram the Royal family's vehicle with his car.

He missed and drove into a group of people who were watching the parade.

8 people were killed, including the driver.

I did not know the guy personally but we went to the same highschool and he was in the same class as my best friend.

This picture ran on the front page of the paper I receive (as I'm sure it did in many other places). I'll never forget the looks on their faces.

Princess Maxima and Prince Willem Alexander look on in horror from an open bus after a car slammed into Dutch festival goers celebrating the Queens Day 30 April 2009, killing four and injuring 13, in what officials believe was an attack on the royal family. Investigators said they arrested the seriously injured driver of the black car which rammed into the foot of a monument after mowing down people gathered for the annual Queens Day royal procession in the central city of Apeldoorn. wow . that is shocking .

that reminds me of another thread that I wanted to start a few times - when you witness an accident/or injury ... do you help or just stand in awe?

I saw a motorcycle guy take a corner too sharp - and end up on his back ... I remember running over to him (there was another man who got there almost the same time I did ) and we just told the guy to stay down (i was worried the guy broke his back- and he didnt try to get up ) as i called 9-1-1... I remember thinking ... i can stay calm ... because i was calling and not dealing with the (rather large) guy who was injured ... lol

Another time my mom fell at the house . She broke her ankle - bad . She was on a 3-step ladder doing something - and fell off .... when I got to her - her ankle looked like a slab of chicken ... it was so gross ....

My dad (typical dad maneuver) said "lets get her in the car and take her to the emergency room" . and i was like "we are not moving her ... we could rupture a artery " ... lol ... i know nothing ...

confused confused sorry i am hijacking my own thread ..

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Man, tragic stuff. I pray for the people that have suffered. rose
I know a few people that have done bad stuff but this one is probably the worst.
My aunt's husband's brother was convicted of killing two people back in 1992.

There's a lot of messed up things about the murder(and murderer) but the most fucked up thing is he might be getting out of prison soon.

Fresno State's Johnson, Girlfriend Killed

NEWSWIRE

January 04, 1992|From Staff and Wire Reports
    • l
Melvin Johnson, a Fresno State offensive lineman from Lynwood, and his girlfriend, Lisa Kelly, were shot and killed in an apparent domestic dispute on Thursday, police said.

Police discovered the bodies of Johnson, 21, and Kelly, 19, at Kelly's mother's Fresno apartment. Police are seeking two juveniles in connection with the case, Lt. Roger Enmark said. Police said one of the juveniles was allegedly Kelly's former boyfriend.

Originally, three brothers were sought in connection with the killings, but the eldest, 26-year-old T P, was questioned and released by police late Thursday. His two younger brothers, ages 14 and 15, were still being sought in connection with the deaths.

Police say witnesses claim they saw one of the younger Phelps leaving the scene with a shotgun.

Police reports indicate that one of the juveniles allegedly shot Johnson in the chest with a shotgun in the apartment. Kelly fled the apartment, pleading for her life, according to witnesses. She ran around to the front of the complex where one of the suspects shot her once in the head.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

A classmate shot and killed my next-door neighbor. The two guys had gotten in a heated argument before the gunfire. Just sad all around...

Long before the shooting, the boy did come across as a bit of a roughneck. But he was kind of protective of me in our rough neighborhood. Treated me like a little-sister back in those days.

sad

Reading some of the replies - oh my gosh!

This is all very close to home for me right now. It really hits a nerve. It's sad to see some of the issues that some of you have dealt with, but also reassuring to me in a way.

Maybe i'll post about mine in a few years from now.
