V10LETBLUES

Jurassic Park 4 director

The new Jurassic Park is being directed by Colin Trevorrow. I had never heard of this guy but after a little googling, I found out he is a young indie director and seemingly a fantastic choice.

He was a contender for Star Wars episode VII, and I can see why, today's sci-fi movies are empty cold visual extravaganzas, they lack character development and charm, and this guy brings that to the table in spades.

Here is a short film he directed

and here is a trailer for Safety Not Guaranteed

Or Alessandro Nivola. He doesn't have to say a word. I just like looking at him. lol

I just watched it. It was cute, but I was surprised to hear he'd be doing a huge blockbuster when this was his only film.

Yeah i see where you are coming from, but even then, I think he should have been chosen for the Star Wars film. THIS is what is missing from the prequels and most all major Hollywood films today. Special effects can be mailed in now, this is the hard part, the part computers still have a hard time generating, the human element.

That's probably true, and i am definitely more interested in story and characters.

I'm sure a director does at least need a vision of the action stuff. I liked that movie, I just heard it was the only one he'd ever done so its a little surprising

Please don't let this one be another chase film.

I know that's hard to do because these are 'monsters', but how about

a trapped in the haunted house horror format?

Or going back to the sci-fi angle.

I love chase films, as long they are not cold and mechanical. Even the original Terminator with a cold mechanical monster chasing after the girl was charming and funny in some ways.
