I'm wondering if being celibate for "too long" can cause any sort of mental illness? Will our brains start to do crazy things if we go too long without a decent shagging????

I'd die of boredom so at least there's that...

I'm not sure about sex but I'm sure not having sex, masturbating, or doing anything similar would cause something to go wrong in the brain

A lack of sex wont make a person go mental but a lack of human interaction, coupled with resentments will. That shit kills...seriously.

P.S I said this on another thread and ill say it here. I bet Ive been celibate longer than anybody on the Org. I'm learning to wear my celibacy as a badge of honor.

If you really feel like you're not happy without it and rely on masturbation alone then it might. Just something that could eat you up in the long run. I don't think there are any physiological reasons why masturbation shouldn't suffice as a replacement for "relieving pressure". Most people just feel quite strong psychological pressure to "prove" for other people that they can "get it". A lot of that has to do with media, of course.

When I've gone for long periods of time without having intercourse I have experienced problems maintaining an erection during sex. I've just gotten too used to what masturbation feels like and vaginal stimulation just feels a bit odd after a break. That's actually caused me quite a lot of stress and pushed me into depressive periods when I haven't understood why I haven't been able to "perform" when I've been with someone.

Of course going Months or years without Sex won't drive anybody MAD or lead them into depression.

Some people that can't get a Date to save their life do end up Depressed..So in that sense not having companionship which leads to Love-making could cause some people Mental problems...

It's a lot harder for Men to remain celibate for months and years...I don't care if he's Straight or Gay, Black or White if a Man is not desiring Sex he needs to talk to his Primary Physician and get his testosterone level check. There's natural and over the counter products that will help a Man get that Sex drive back.

If you're a Man don't sit there and think that your non-erection, non-stimulation or non-desire for intercourse is Normal for your Body because it's not. You might have other health issues going on...

You gotta get regular check ups with a Primary Physician. I do and she does blood work on everything. And you know I'm Black and Black Men need to be running to the Doctors Office since we're at a Higher rate of getting so much Crap.

I don't know about women, but if a man goes without, his body will make it happen eventually one way or another. So the question would be hard to prove.

But I don't think men who become paralyzed below the waist and can't have sex are all mentally ill
