Former Smoker : Debbie Austin, Dead at 62

http://www.latimes.com/he...5474.story

She starred in those disturbing anti-smoking videos which the industry wanted you to ignore.

I am so, so, so, sooooooo glad I gave up smoking.

Sorry to hear that.

Unfortuntately, as I've said before, telling smokers they are going to die is generally ineffective. Idiot smokers usually reply, "Oh, that's decades away from now. Who wants to be 80 anyway? Not me! Besides, they'll have a cure for cancer by then. So bugger off!"

You know who wants to live to be 80? Everyone that's 79! Think about that. Whatever age you are, you want to live to be the next age, right? So if you're 26, you want to live to be 27. I promise you that will be true every single year you age, so when you do finally hit 79, you're gonna want to live to be 80.

But back to stupid smokers. Instead of telling them they are going to die, let's just tell them the honest truth:

You smokers smell like shit, no one wants to kiss you, and most people are laughing at you for being so stupid.

We don't think you're bad people, but we sure do think you are acting like an idiot. And, you really do smell like shit.

You are being quite judgemental aren't you?

According to you all smokers are "stupid',"smell like shit" and "idiots' also...

I have never put a cigarrette in my mouth and I wouldn't advise anyone to take up smoking but the

barrage of insults you spewed is just as dis-tasteful.

I'd apologize except that I'm 100% right.

It seemed they were running her commericals in heavy rotation this weekend. The put up she died last year. It still is freaky to see her draw from her cigarette through the hole in her neck.

Certainly I'm being pretty rough but I can't think of another method to keep people from taking up this vile, deadly and trashy habit.

Tobacco should be outlawed.

Actually I have, 16 months ago my Aunt passed away from metastatic cancer, never smoked or drank. However she did eat a lot of red meat, maybe I should have shaken my finger in her face and told her she was partly to blame for her stomach cancer.

You should make an attempt to get over yourself.

Well that escalated quick...

But my mom is a moderate smoker at best and she's healthy as an ox...

I'm sorry for your loss.

So, you went to the hospital, saw that most of the patients there were/had been smokers, and just said "Meh"?

I'm not getting over anything, pal. You need to open your eyes.

Let's pray she stays that way but the odds are definitely not in her favor.
