Elephants are all evolving smaller tusks to protect selves from ivory poachers!
Poachers are endangering the existence of elephants. They murder them and mutilate their faces to obtain the ivory tusks and leave the elephant corpse to rot in the plains of Africa. Elephant evolution is fighting back, though.

The average tusk size of African elephants has halved since the mid-19th century. A similar effect has been spotted in the Asian elephant population in India.

Researchers say it is an example of Darwinism in action, caused by the mass slaughter of dominant male elephants (which tend to have bigger tusks). However, while evolution normally takes place over thousands or millions of years, these changes have occurred within 150 years.

The poaching and hunting of the largest male elephants, which also have the largest tusks, has changed the natural breeding behavior of these animals.

Their research has shown that the hunting of these large males for their ivory allows smaller males with shorter tusks to produce more calves. Over time the average tusk size decreases.

Here’s a tip for the do-it-yourself crowd: Go to your computer’s Start menu, and either go to “run” 
or just search for “cmd.” Open it up, and type in “ping [website address],”

Once you have the IP for a website, all you really need to do is enter it like you would a normal URL
 and hit enter/press go. Typing in “208.85.240.231” should bring you to the front page of AO3, for 
example, just as typing “174.121.194.34/dashboard” should bring you straight to your Tumblr
dashboard. Since we’re obviously bracing for the worst case scenario which would involve you not 
being able to access the internet regularly, you should, save this list.

Charles Schultz killed off a much-disliked Peanuts character with an axe!
On November 30, 1954, a character by the name of Charlotte Braun made her debut in the much-loved comic strip Peanuts. She was loud, brash, and opinionated, and "Good Ol' Charlotte Braun" quickly annoyed the comic strip's readers.

She last appeared on February 1st, 1955, after just 10 sightings on the comic strip. However, that was not the last time she was seen.

45 years later, after the death of Charles Schulz, Elizabeth Swaim donated to the United States Library of Congress the letter written to her by Schulz in response to a complaint she had made about Braun just a month before the character's demise.

In the letter, Schulz agrees to kill her off, reminds Swaim that she will be responsible for the character's death, and then signs off with a picture of Braun with an axe to the head. She wasn’t axed figuratively, but legitimately got an ax to her head.
