THE ORGTOWN GOSSIPER - 02

Orgtown, EARTH, - noon-ish on a Sunday

Orgtown's definitely in a mood. Everybody is positively obsessed by the looming war, and the claws are out. At first, it seemed like the anti-war forces, led by Soulpower and Abrazo, had raised their single-star flag over the P&R forum for good. Then came the massive pro-war assault lead by Aaronunlimited, followed by the deadly carpet-threading of Wellbeyond. Caught between it all, Ian the moderator is working overtime to keep the forum under control. "I think I know how Hans Blix feels", said the Mod with the Most.

Meanwhile, the General Discussion forum is feeling the heat. Icenine was overheard bitterly complaining about "the bastards who are sucking all of the flame action out of the forum", no doubt referring to those who choose to be passionate in the P&R forum. Reached at her boudoir, Lavish was unimpressed : "It's that war thing... People will be back to sex threads in no time."

MrBliss certainly concurred. The wacky Aussie is one of the few regular GDers that appeared unaffected by the avalanche of frightening news. "I don't watch the news. I don't think it's very manly to be preoccupied by events on which you have no control," said Orgtown's foremost humorist. "I prefer to make the news right here, where I can control it."

In other news, Orgtown's celebrated gossip columnist Aerogram attributes his failure to even merit a nomination in the recent Prince.org comedy awards to the overall declining popularity of intelligent conversation. "It's like, since all the clever threads moved to the P&R forum, young GD kids don't even know who I am anymore. They just want to talk about anal sex and ducks and things, and frankly I can't compete with that" said Aerogram today.

However, others such as satirical political columnist IceNine said today: "Frankly, this is a wake up call for Aero. Before he got those magnets put in his head, he was funny. Whatever effect his ear implants are having on his neural comedic pathways, it is surely a sign of an overall declining interest in comedy. It's like, now he only wants to bash the US and stuff, and that's not a popular stance to take at the moment with so many tetchy Americans on the site. He needs to focus on his gossip columns and go to his roots, the posts that really made him famous".

EXCLUSIVE : THE AEROGRAM INTERVIEW
Margo Rea interviews the beleagered thread artiste.

Margo : You've been under attack...

Aerogram :I've been? I hadn't noticed.

M : Come on... it's me Margo. There's no need to be coy.

A : Ok.. maybe a little. But it doesn't bother me.

M. : (looong pause)

A. : What?

M. : You're doing it again.

A. : Oh now you're going to tell me it's your female instinct that sees all and feels all. rolleyes

M. : You're being active aggressive.

A. : I can't win, can I? Either I'm bad for being passive-aggressive or I'm bad for being active.

M. : I'm not judging you. Simply stating the facts.

A. : It's an opinion!

M. : Don't you dare start that debate again! Just tell me what's on your mind.

A. : The war. I can't help it.

M. : You certainly can't. Why can't you be more like MrBliss?

A. : Dr StangeOrg or How I learned to love the war and stop worrying?

M. : You're being judgmental. Admit it's saner.

A. : Refraining from thinking will always make you feel saner. Like Albert Camus, I believe it's more important to be aware than to be happy.

M. : Oh lawd... next you're going to quote Ingmar Bergman I bet.

A. : You need more coffee... you're getting sarcastic. Besides I have to do brunch. Call me later when your hangover has passed.

M. : This is going into print, you know?

A. : (hangs up)

You need to work on your controversy skills. In the year 2003, it's no longer enough to be simply controversial. You have to be shocking.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Aerogram and his management deny any ill feelings toward the recent snub on the Comedy thread. After his recent unpopular stands on various topics, Aerogram fully expected a strong backlash. He takes solace in studying the career of Jane Fonda, who won Oscars while still being called Hanoi Jane. While no one has yet uttered something as vile as Bagdad Gram, Aero remains committed to his values and ideals and is willing to be dragged through mud for them.

As anti-war people go, the org could do far worse than you, sir. It has, actually...

Orgtown, EARTH, - 2 O' clock on a Sunday

I managed to rescue the notes I took last night on the carpet of the Best Comedian Award Show, which was inexplicably held in a dive next to a strip joint. The bubbly Dora was among the first to arrive and refused to say who she would vote for. "You probably won't like it", she said with a smile as I shrugged. I'm told she's off the sauce.

The show's organizer was none other than Ian the "moderator". "It's our first edition. All we could afford was this place and a mariachi band.", said the Mod, who was wearing a kilt that revealed grotesquely hairy legs. RDHull was well-dressed sans boa and a model of humility as he accepted the many accolades. The rest of the night's honorees were nearly as charming Not so Aerogram, who was spotted at the bar looking bitter and downing shots of tequila.

Not too far away, Christopher was sporting a t-shirt showing the Singing Marine, from American Idol semifame. "Aaronunlimited spilled his pink drink on my outfit, so he gave me this ugly thing.. The boy is such a patriot!"

Aaron looks delighted as Haystack pinches his left cheek while Supa rubs his shoulder.

MrBliss sports his trademark red hat.

Lib dances the night away.

Love the avatar and profile picture, but you have 94 posts. You're nobody in Orgtown if you don't have a couple more hundreds.. unless you're a well-known figure under a different name, which I,m told hardly ever happens.
