College should be REQUIRED for these kids. They are not biological Jacksons therefore that 'talent' gene has not been passed on to them. But who needs talent these days in the entertainment business.

I agree and I wonder why Katherine isn't encouraging them to go to college. She,of all people, knows what can happen when young children are "pushed" into the entertainment world. What's wrong with these kids going to college and picking another occupation besides entertainment? Why the sudden push to get them into movies and TV shows? |

As far as I know they wanna go to college. Prince even said that himself on E Tonight and from what I've heard he's a straight A student. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all." |

Latoya has been specializing in G-list endorsements for foreign companies and products since the 90's... though I don't think she's had anything on the table for a few years now. But she doesn't need to. She exploited herself well enough into financial security 20-25 years ago. That's a woman doesn't show up anywhere unless a check is involved in exchange for the usage of her family name. As for that horrendous little man she was married to, he didn't steal anything . I have no comment on their marriage, but in my view, she was a willing participant in everything she was involved in business wise and was treated like royalty wherever she went; even for something as stupid as plugging cheap carnival looking merchandise related to her country album, to beauty serums in former Russian block countries whose names we can't pronounce.
Back when Latoya was hustling like this, it was the time before the Internet took over our existence on planet Earth, & tons of celebrities from A list to Z were whoring themselves out then to secure dough for their futures. The mainstream wouldn't know about these projects because they were working for companies and products that weren't even based in America.
I met the former Mr& Mrs Gordon in the 90's for one of those whack ass deals he had in place for her through a South Floridian production company. i know her paychecks during that decade were HUGE. Plus, just as many celebrities do, she received whatever clothes or jewels she wanted from the projects as "gifts" ( I recall in particular she was very fond of all the Donna Karan items we pulled from Saks for her, and a jewelry piece that was not cheap. These items can always be offset in cost as a production expense) They (as in the both of them) exploited the Jakson name for deals that were $1 million , and yes, companies were willing to pay for any piece of the Jackson mystique they could get their hands on. $1-2 million wasn't even that much at that time; Latoya was pulling in the same amount for endorsements &, testimonials & informercials as Racquel Welch (who just before, I finished my last production job working on some beauty cream endorsement with a company owned by some Peruvian witch closely aligned with my former beastmaster boss from South America)...
if you're smart, when you find yourself sitting on 5 or 10 million dollars, you invest money like that into diversified interests for you to live off of. And one thing that I gathered from being in Ms. Jackson's presence is that that soft voice and giggly smile is an act. She is very well aware of what is going on around her at all times with eyes in the back of her head, and if she must, she will speak with authority in just one sentence and everything that needs to be understood... will be. If she knows nothing else, she knows how to pitch and shill a product, even if it's Brasilian Roach spray. Girlfriend does not strike me as someone who would be wasteful or stupid about money, either- she's way too clever for that...and I imagine a lot of that must come from the fact that she's so observant of everything and everyone around her; you can practically see wheels turning in her head at any given moment. Y'all get too easily distracted by that Minnie Mouse voice and those giggles, which I admit she does publicly to great effect.
There was a time when I didnt mind her hustle, even kind of respected it. I thought well at least she's making her own money--and by what you posted it sounds like she was making big bucks back in the day. But tbqh, her constant cashing in on her family has gotten really tired with me. Has she ever tried to come out with a product of her own? Like say a line of jewelry, clothing or perfume? Yes I know she doesnt have to if there are companies willing to pay her thousands just to lend her famous last name to their weird and shady products. But she should try to branch out from that and come up with a product or idea that she has either created or co-created with someone else imho. Latoya has to have some kind of talent inside her. Obviously its not singing/performing, but who knows what other kinds of creative talents she might have? I just think its a shame that instead of developing or using whatever talents or ideas she may have she chooses the easy make-a-quick-buck-by-selling-out-her-family-name-and-business way instead.
[Edited 3/6/13 21:06pm]
I'm not even going to touch the kid managing thing, but as for her taking endorsements and testimonials, it's HER last name to sell, not mine, and I don't see why she shouldn't if that's what she wants to do. She gets in where she fits instead of sitting at home like her lazy ass brothers doing nothing and asking for handouts.
All that "come up with something from scratch" is easier said than done, and if you don't know what you're doing with the right team around you, you can lose your shirt....and her objective is clearly to make money, not spend it/possibly lose it. Why at this stage of life take that kind of risk? And besides, she didn't re-invent the wheel by making money this way, celebrities in all disciplines have shilled products for as far back as I can remember without taking the risk and investment of creating something by themselves.

Katherine is at an age and state now where can't even manage to keep herself from getting kidnapped by her own children. How effective do you think she can be in persuading her rich, entitled teenaged grandkids into the pedestrian world of academic pursuits instead of bright lights & big cities promising excitement and adoration?
This is kind of when I see the logic of Micheal wanting Diana Ross tp inherit his kids |

she actually reminds me of this Aunt I had who drove a school bus and had a Rosanne mullet. She was always tanning and trying to fit her fat pasty ass into a swim suite so she could float around her pond in one of those bouyant chairs and drink margaritas and eat hot dogs. Dunno why it's so important to people if MJ's children are biologically his or not.
Are there not more important things in the world to focus on?
Anyhoo, looks like Prince Jackson has vitiligo.
