CGI Audrey Hepburn in television commercial

Amazing technical feat, questionable tactic. Gorgeous either way.

Is she really CGI or did they just work old footage of her into a commercial?

Yes.

The biggest challenges in recreating an authentic and unmistakable Audrey HepburnTM proved to be the eyes and smile. Although the actress was cast for her eyes, and originally the team had hoped to use the real eyes and build the cg face around them, as post-production progressed it became clear that recognition was key to the success of this ad and, close though the actress was, full CG was the only way to get it right.

This is soooooo much better than the Pop Corn one David Lynch directed.

I actually like this one.

Hope to see them a Tupac commercial.

How, in heaven's name, did they get permission from her estate to do this - and how much money did they pony up?

The company I work for wanted to use the still image on the right in our catalog years ago and the rights were just insanely expensive - even if they would allow use of the photo, which was doubtful.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
