OMG, the animist beliefs here in Thailand blow my mind.

Some people (a LOT of people) actually believe that if you walk under women's underwear,

it renders your amulets (gold pendants with protective powers) powerless.

Not only do I find these beliefs utterly strange, I find some sexist.

There's even a female ghost named Gra-Seua ( gra su ah ) that rooms the swamp lands

drinking the blood of men.

It's fascinating to me. This is one of the world's largest cities (Bangkok), with an official

population of 7 million (but it's more like 10 to 12), and there is a spirit-house at the

north east corner of EVERY piece of property here.

Some preachers, pastors or religious people are afraid of their own shadows. Some of them see satan, possession or demon activity in everything.

I was watching Benny Hinn one day and he was ranting and raving about tribal sounding music. He was basically saying that heavy drum beats are evil and can cause demon activity. He basically said classical music was cool but not music that makes you shake yo ass.[Paraphrase].

P.S I do believe that there is such things as evil spirits but benny and pat need to go sit down somewhere.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Just out of curiosity, which country are you originally from?

I once knew a doctor who told me that wearing second hand clothes could be bad because the clothes still have the aura of the person who owned them previously. wink wink

I have heard the same warning about African art. Any art purchased from Africa should be "cleansed" of spirits before bringing it into your home.
