Notice most of the questions dealt with geography and civics. 2 subjects that I don't think are even taught in schools anymore.

Meh. I just realized I couldn't remember the name of the British Prime Minister (that's a country I used to live in). lol

Some of the boys in the video look like they might have some developmental problems and the chicks are just bimbos.

Something needs to be done about how we teach our students. It's clear both the left and right can't get that straight... neutral

A US-centric quiz, but I bet European kids would do much better at it. For the record, I don't know the Capitol of Washington either

Please. Per pupil spending was MUCH lower when I was in school, and I knew all that stuff by the third grade.

The biggest problems with our educational system have nothing to do with money.

In 5th grade, Sister Leonora used a song (based on "one little, two little, three little indians") that taught us the capitals of every state down the eastern seaboard. To this day I can recite the song and tell you the capital of every state from Maine down to Florida.

But the rest of country? I never learned them, so I'm clueless to most of them. I would've said Seattle was the capital of Washington State.

I may not have learned the state capitals in school, either. But when I was a kid, I had an illustrated book about the 50 states that listed their capitals, populations, flags, symbols (birds, flowers, etc), and products (agricultural, minerals and such). I read that thing all the damn time - I loved it.

And I would actually sit and read the encyclopedia for hours. In fact, I'd read anything I could get my hands on. Our family subscribed to National Geographic, too - and my mother would assign readings from that magazine and from their School Bulletin, which came in the summer.

I was like that but with the World Atlas.

I can still recall most nations' flags, and geographical locations.

Oh c'mon now, this is a joke, right? The war fought for American independence and how many countries border the United States stumps them? They teach that in every school, starting in 1st grade on, that's just how much they actually pay attention, period, in one ear and out the other. I'm assuming this was done in the state of Washington, every student should know the capital of the state they live in.

I think the students they ask are probably ones who don't pay much attention in school and sleep in the back of everyone else. They ask these people so the media can have their own opinion about how a school "treats its students".
