Hello everybody, or as we say in my native New Zealand, kia ora!

I noticed on my account page that I've now been a member for 10 years. Wow, I was not far out of high school at that time and alot has happened since.

I've still never been to a Prince concert. He's never visited NZ, and when he hit Australia last year, there wasn't enough time between the announcement and the commencement of the tour for me to save up for a trip over the ditch. One day, somehow I will go to one of his concerts though! And the afterparty. I'm all about the late night adventures!

As a long term member, I feel I express a couple of things I've observed which irk me.

1st is threads which get deleted without explanation. This has happened many times in General Discussion and Politics. I think it's really rude to delete a thread which many people have contributed to without telling any of them whats going on. In fact, I think that no thread should ever be deleted - maybe locked if its derogatory - but all evidence should remain on display so people can make their own conclusions about any conflict and if you make your own bed, you can lie in it! Many times we spend ALOT OF TIME AND THOUGHT into considerate replies. Making good and bad decisions on the things we say are part of life and if we can learn from them and each other it's all for the better.

2nd is threads getting locked for just passionate difference of opinions or the old classic "going off topic". For everyone who's had a conversation with a human in real life, you'll be aware that when you have a conversation, one thing will lead to another. That is conversation. This forum is conversation. Let people conversate. Without the members conversating, a forum is nothing. Ever visited an online forum that has about one post per month? Yeah, I didn't stick around on there either! Let the conversation flow, flow and flow. Here, there and everywhere if it needs to.

3rd is when I joined we had great threads about MJ songs or albums or production etc. Please can we go back to having that as an option. I'm not even a die hard, but MJ is ONE of my faves and it was really cool conversation and now it's really shit. Leave the sticky for non music bullshit, but how bout letting people talk music again? There's no way to hold a proper conversation on a sticky because it's 80,000 things going on at once. It fully sucks and I think we can do alot better. We're not juveniles. It's obvious that the general tone here is mature and there are great minds involved.

To conclude, I'd like to say that I really enjoy everyones posts, passion and zest for the things we discuss. Thank you all for your effort, insights and the laughs you give us! I can say that the Non-Prince forum here is probably the biggest influence on the vast widening of my musical landscape over the past 10 years.

I've never met anyone here in person, but I'd definitely like to have a few rounds at the pub with some when the opportunity arises! If anyone's visiting New Zealand, I can give you some pointers for what to do in Auckland. I'm pretty involved in the music scene. Just don't expect me to ever respond in the mornings LOL!

without knowing you, I can say that I really like people from NZ and Australia, from the ones that post here...like ZombieKitten

I must get over the ditch and make the 14 hour plane trip...
