Job Application Question Hi folks,
As usual, I need your help with something.
I applied for a job on Wednesday via email, sending a cover letter, resume, and references as they requested. I have received no reply to that email. It makes me concerned that they may not have received it. So, what do I do now? Nothing? Call? Email again? The application deadline is tomorrow, and I really want this job, so I really want to make sure they have my materials, but I don't want to come across as annoying right off the bat.
Thanks!!! | |

If you've received no kind of email confirmation of receipt, assume it has not been received. Go down there in person and submit your application and resume. [Edited 2/21/13 13:19pm]

send it again with a received and/or read receipt

Follow up with another email or call them to make sure they received your documents. Good Luck!! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Sometimes they state in the ad that they will only contact those they are interested in to interview. Please do not call us, etc. thingy.
I've applied with my resume, cover letter and if I don't get a response I assume I did not get picked for an interview. I do not wait to hear anything I just keep applying, that's what I do.

Not all places send a receipt and many may request no phone. Alls or showing up. Check your sent items to see if it got through

That, and check your spam folder because sometimes a response pops in there rather than your email inbox.

I think a follow up email is ok, but more to say that you sent in your application and appreciate the opportunity rather than to ask if they got it. I would assume they did get it and that they just don't reply to everyone. [Edited 2/22/13 3:13am] My Legacy

Thanks everyone!
The message is in my sent folder, and nothing in my spam folder... so I'm trying to just chill out and remember that they don't have time to respond to everyone who applies. I think I'm just used to replies because the last few jobs I applied for had automatic replies set up, but this one is a small organization, so it just went to the contact's regular email.
Happy Friday to all! | |
