I don't think all 7 billion humans will die necessarily. The dinosaurs did not all die either, the ones that survived (mostly smaller ones) evolved into other things.
Certain species died out completely just like species are always going extinct. But I believe that humans, by virtue of the fact that they are spread across the entire planet in very high numbers, stand a pretty good chance of surviving even a catastrophic event.
But yes, billions of us are basically fucked. [Edited 2/16/13 15:20pm] My Legacy

I read your comment shortly after you'd posted it, but didn't respond because the few reports I'd read didn't seem to come from the most reliable (imo) sources and I didn't want to end up looking a total fool. But yesterday I saw a couple more reports about a meteor in Cuba that seemed more credible, then today I read this:

If you do a Google and YouTube search on "Cuba meteor 2013" you'll find more info - still, there's not as much info out there as I'd think there'd be after an occurance of this nature. I guess maybe news is slower to come out of Cuba than from other places? lol
Anyway, just wanted to post an update, since nobody wanted to believe me before. | |
