lol I thought Michonne was far too carefree about this whole incident--especially as Merle's hostage. She had opportunities to fight or run, but didn't act on them for some reason. It really didn't fit her character. Michonne understood that she would probably die a tortuous death if she were delivered to the Governor.

If the Governor dies on the season finale, I could see Tyrese, his sister, or Milton doing the deed after turning on the Woodbury group.

Michonne is way smarter than just taking off at the first moment she could, all tied up and pretty much helpless.

I find it suited her character perfectly. She's extremely calculating and doesn't seem to just do anything without knowing her odds upfront.

I agree. Michonne did a huge mindfuck on Merle, saying he never killed anybody before he met the Governor. That caused him to dump her on the road and change his game plan. Kill off as many of the Governer's men or the Governer himself. It didn't turn out the way he planned it, but brought him redemption among fans who disliked him.

Since Michonne has been inside of Woodbury, she had a good idea of what her odds were. In Woodbury, she would have to deal with the Governor and his many cronies armed with automatic weapons as opposed to dealing with just Merle.

Even with her hands bound, Michonne is still extremely dangerous and definitely not helpless. Especially since her hands weren't tied behind her back. Michonne is a bad ass. She doesn't need full use of her hands to be a threat. Earlier in the season, Michonne using her katana and other melee combat skills, easily dealt with an armed Woodbury group of four men lead by Merle. She took out Merle with her legs alone. Binding Michonne's hands just makes it a bit more of a fair fight lol

On a side note, I believe Merle was planning this suicide mission all along. After the manner in which they parted ways, Merle wasn't stupid enough to think delivering Michonne would quell the anger of the Governor. He understood how ruthless the Governer was. He has accompanied the Governor on all of the raiding parties against other groups of survivors. Which makes me think what was his initial purpose of taking Michonne? Was it just to present an opportunity for Merle to strike at the Governor?

I can't believe they showed Merle actually had a heart right before they killed him off! I think after doing that, killing him was their only option. Nobody wanted to see a reformed Merle. He was too good at being despicable.

Poor Daryl though! I felt worse for Daryl than for Merle!

Can't wait for the season finale - I wonder how many of our beloved crew will survive the war?

I must say every episode thus far this season has been exceptional! Wonder if they will be able to live up to the same quality when they come back for their 4th season? Can't wait for the 3rd Season DVD release!

SPOILER TO 24 March 13 episode

missfee said:

I have to say that it got a little predictable that Merle was going to go after he kicked Michionne out the car. Although he's been an asshole for 95% of the series, I have to say, his 5% of humanity shown in perhaps the last 20 minutes of the episode made me feel sorry for the way he went out. And damn he was so close to taking the Governor out. I have to say, thanks Big Brother.

But Daryl...hug I just wanted to give him a hug. Poor thing.

Did any of you watch the Talking Dead? Well the guy who plays the Governor, David Morrissey was on it and then half way though they brought out the actor who plays Merle, Michael Rooker. He said that the reason why Merle let Michionne go was because he was tired of hearing her talking. spit

Norman Reedus (Daryl) will be on Talking Dead next week. excited

[Edited 3/25/13 4:41am]

It totally scares me when a cast member is on TTD! It usually happens after they've been killed off. BUT since Norman Reedus is scheduled to be on the entire show and not brought in as a suprise guest, Daryl MAY be safe! beg Please don't kill off Daryl!!!!

I have to admit I was happy to see Meryl go. I was getting tired of his venom. The way he went was fantastic and heartbreaking! STUPID GOVNER!!! Didn't kill him with a head shot and let him come back!!! Then Daryl had to final kill him! So sad!

The 31 March 13 episode is the season finale and I agree, I don't want the season to end either. At least there isn't 9 MONTHS between seasons due to the mid-season hiatus.

The can't kill Daryl not after Meryl, that's cruel to all of us. I was told last night that 27 will die next episode, I said there aren't 27 cast members, but that's the rumor.

I know what you mean, but when they announce a cast member being on TTD ahead of time, then normally that means the character is safe. It's only after the episode has aired that the character has been killed off that the actor appears as a "surprise guest" on TTD.

Andrea and Maggie were both announced a week ahead of time that they were going to be on TTD. Meryl, T-Dog and the prisoner guy were surprise guests after their characters were killed off.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm sorry y'all, but I was loving Carl last night...he's turned into the new Shane! lol

I was really expecting the Governor to die last night...so where in the hell did he and his scared henchmen drive off to? It's not like they rode off into the sunset. It was wild how he just shot up his people in a pyschotic rage. eek

Andrea dying, totally didn't expect that but oh well, when it's your time, gotta go. They must have had some spa specialists in Woodbury because obviously Andrea found time to get a pedicure. lol

Did anyone watch "Talking Dead" last night? OMG, the most hilarious episode ever! Seemed to me that Norman Reedus and Yvette Nicole Brown had some light flirty moments going on. Actor who played Tyreese was on Talking Dead as well. Also Norman mentioned that they was some potential flirt moments going on between Rick and Michionne in the finale, I missed that so I'll need to do a re-watch to see what he was talking about.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

if u look in the back of the truck when they return u see the bed of the truck filled with boxes i assume its supplies....Andrea i was glad to see go...rather she didnt want people to die or not no reason for her to be a traitor to both sides she could of picked a side and not shot or killed anyone....ANYONE wanted to shoot the govenor while he was shooting at his OWN army..what a DUMBASS imho...Carl... i think ur right on this i was thinking same thing he has turned into Shane for killing that boy who was about to surreneder..but i also was uneasy on how SLOWLY the boy was surrendering...it was like he was gonna make a fast move and shoot someone his self....Carl or Hershel...if he was willing to lay down the weapon he would of done so without hesitation.. he hesitated for awhile i noticed...

Yeah, it was hugely disappointing. The Governor storyline really should have been resolved. It's gone on long enough, and it's time to start something new.

The episode was really a waste of time.

This is why I didn't find anything wrong with Carl shooting the boy. Sure it was hasty, but I think it would have turned into another situation from last season had he let the boy live.

to be honest, for me the last 3 episodes felt like one long drawn out lot of nothing.

they could have put those 3 episodes in only 2 and had this one left for a lot of

stuff being resolved and setting up a little bit more of the story of what's going

to happen now, at the prison.

what about food? what about the characters that have joined the gang? what has

happened to the governor?

plus they could have shown us how they burried andrea, just so us watching the

show could savor that moment just a little bit longer lol

but eventhough the finale was kind of flat for me, it was an exciting night just

to watch the season finale of TWD and then the season start of GOT.

also: they had grenade launchers on the trucks driving into the prison,

shooting out the watch towers.

yet they couldn't launch a grenade into glen and his girlfriend shooting

from behind a chainlink fence?

instead they just went for a shoot out with their guns, firing off 10.000

rounds yet nobody hit nothing

That was my first thought seeing those people getting off the bus. Food? Water? Hello? I see no boxes of supplies getting off that bus.

And I agree with you all, that boy was taking too long laying down that gun like he was doing a whole lotta thinking. Carl's a thinker and a quick decision maker. That boy dun redeemed himself tenfold.

And could somebody explain to me why Andrea was sitting there dreamily talking so much so that dying Milton had to reminder her to hurry up. Honey, you couldn't save anybody expect in your daydreams. And I died about the pedicure.

EXACTLY!!

Seriously, earlier in the season, that's what Rick would have done.

Thing is, Carl is a kid. Like Rick said, it's easy to forget that. The zombie apocalypse is now becoming a metaphor for life. You can't get through it alone, but you can't just blindly accept everyone AND you can't just kill people that aren't "one of you". You just gotta keep a sharp eye out and be ready to defend.

I think the finale could have been stronger. It's like they're getting REALLY sloppy with details. Andrea's pedicure and curls. Rick hands her a non-shell discharging handgun and after the shot you hear a shell hit the cement floor. (ASIDE-So either that was a goof or Michonne shot Andrea with her automatic weapon).

Milton tried to help Andrea, but the tool he left for her and the premise that she could do all that with her feet....lame. I would have believed it more if Milton had helped her some. I know he was mortally wounded, but.

More later....off to work LOL
