im speaking of current state of black celebs not people from the 50 or 60's when u speak 2 youth today they dont know who the hell langston hughes or jessie jackson is for that matter they think jesse is a member of the jackson 5. im looking at how people like frank ocean treat coming out he at this point can deny it unlike neil patrick harris comes out get married and have kids and i keep coming back 2 neil cuz i think he is just the coolest

As always many of Don Lemon comments are foolish but that's par for the course. That being said...

I've never understand why people feel they need to hear anything from Queen Latifah or Jodi Foster, when all some people really want to do is gossip and pry.

The Black community has always been homophobic and I don't care what part of the world we live in it's not "acceptable". We should start our conversations here because Black men give other Black men grief about their sexual preferences...GRIEF. The Black Church give Gay Black men and women grief, even though a large percentage of that good sangin' and directing is being done my our gay brothers and sister. Black people still face a lot of discrimination in the US, especially in the entertainment industry. Maybe some Black Gay men and women fear they would be setting themselves up to hung out to dry by both sides. To feel accepted... to not be rejected by their own, they have to deny who they are or not be open about it. We should know better but that's the bind we put our Black Gay community in and it's wrong.
