Tarantino Goes H.A.M On interviewer

Although i think he was acting a tiny bit childish i can see why he could get pissed off.

I Really hate when interviewers ask the same questions and there is tons of videos and interviews that people have asked QT this question since Pulp Fiction came out.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I've heard Tarantino on Stern several times and he seems like a nice dude, but I think this was douchey move. If you're gonna fill your work with violence, be prepared to answer questions on the subject when you're doing a "commercial" for it. rolleyes

I've never been a fan of Martin Bashir, but I think his question is fair play. How can QT tout that his cinematic violence is last week's leftovers yet somehow ever fresh enough to underpin every new title he drops. rolleyes

I really liked Tarantino's recent interview on The Charlie Rose show... Charlie asks the right questions and knows just how to reel him in when he runs a tad long-winded... lol

If any particular question is fair play, then so are the answers they garner. Particularly if the artist in question is willing to give honest answers, even when they might put him or the work he's promoting in a bad light. Further, a good interviewer will know ahead of time what questions their subject has been asked a thousand times and which ones are going to set them off. Asking them anyway, or asking them the same way, is bait. He cast his line and got back what he deserved, maybe what he wanted.

"i HAD to give black men a western hero...". about all i cared to sit through. ^ who knows? would love to have some of it, if it has me making awesome epic films as well. he's a BIT pretentious, but then again so am i cool

H.A.M. is also a decent song by kanye and jay-z, which came on my shuffle yesterday. jay's part is kinda ill, ye's is okay and SO him. the beat and coda kill and i can remember the chorus now cool

oh boy. Bashir is a weirdo and could easily spin anything so i wouldn't say anything. But then again he's a human and tarantino didn't have to react so strongley.

Wow, guys..

Not every Asian news reporter is Martin Bashir. It's actually Krishnan Guru-Murthy from Channel 4 News.

He can be a bit of a dick though, like Bashir.

Totally fair question, as it relates to his current work and not to something that happened years ago. But then, QT answered it, so no biggie IMO

Oh, the interviewer definitely got back what wanted. I've little doubt he had any genuine curiosity for a real answer in lieu of the much sexier reaction he got. But I suspect much of Tarantino's audience does have that curiosity -- and it's gonna be refreshed with every new film, the violent content of which trumps the film prior. The irony of Tarantino's position, of course, lies in the fact that if folks actually did one day treat his violence as incidentally as he passes it off, his gig would be up.
