Taco Bell is cool, sometimes...but, it's NOT
Mexican food no no no!

The WORST Mexican food i ever had...ChiChis, YUCK!

Here in Detroit, we're lucky enough to have a section
of the city devoted to Mexican food, "MexicanTown" or
"Mexican Village", right across the EWay, both are GREAT!

Or, you can travel to Southwest Detroit, where we have
plenty of other restaurants that stand alone...Armando's, Las Brisas, plus plenty of Taqueria's ...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Shit indeed.

Americanized bastardization.

but the taco bell grande is a wonderous thing... as is the 7 layer burrito...

Truth be told, I don't mind Taco Bell, and I eat their food once every blue moon. But as compared to the REAL Mexican food there's no comparison. It's like comparing Creed to Led Zeppelin; Kravitz to Prince, Pick Up Stix to REAL Chinese food (I like both), Babyface to Luther Vandross, store bought gumbo to home made gumbo, pumpkin pie to potato pie...headache

I have no problem admitting I'm a food/cooking snob. I am hardcore, and I like the authentic stuff if I have a choice. Taco Bell is ok if I'm in a desperate rush and there are no authentic Mexican food diners open.

I'm sensitive, somebody hold me. sigh

i actually love the authentic stuff a lot... especially this place that just opened about 2 mins from my house... it's terrific... the guy makes his own salsa and everything... this shit is badass...

but there's just something about taco bell... i was raised on that shit... there's a special place in my heart just for it...

pss. To those lucky enough to eat in San Diego... you can't go two blocks without running into these red and yellow striped buildings called Roberto's... mmm, talk about great, fast Mexican Food... drool

REDFEATHERS

When I was studying at university I worked at a real hip Mexican Restaurant, it was buzzing everynight, the work there was hard but fun...great atmosphere, there were large queues of people trying to get in to eat.

The food was great, stacked high on the plates..the beer, the cocktails...I have to admit that I did pig out while I worked there.. redface

I lived in Albuquerque, NM for 3 years and had some of the best authentic Mexican food around. Interestingly in NM, there is New Mexican food and Mexican food. The way I understand it is that New Mexican food is more Hispanic/Spanish vs. straight up authentic Mexican food. They were both excellent though.

I love Menudo (Mexican tripe) and Pasoli.

I love it but it's too heavy most of the time, gotta be in the mood for it.

My best mexican food experience: drunk & feeling good, Juan's Place in Emeryville/Berkeley, chicken quesadilla drowned in sauce, sour cream & cheese for days. PERFECT blend of flavors, I wanted to fuck that quesadilla that night... disbelief
