Who remembers MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATRE 3000 ?

This show came out like ten years ago on Comedy Central.

There was this one guy who was stuck in a spaceship with

two goofy looking robots, and all they did was watch old B-

movies all they way through and talk to the screen. They

would say some funny ass stuff no matter how bad the film

was.

There was even a feature film.

I haven't seen this in awhile, I thought the first season

was the best. I didn't think they would show the whole

movie they would watch, but they did.

AND it was produced in Minnesota AND they frequently made Prince references in the show. They even had a Prince reference in the feature film - they were watching "This Island Earth" and, at one point, the characters in the film walked into a glittery purple room and one of the robots said something like "hey - it's Prince's bedroom!"

Great show!

It used to be on at 9 or 10. I used to get up and watch it Saturday mornings with a friend of mine. We'd watch together from our separate apartments over the phone. We'd get up, but couldn't be bothered to get ready and go over to the other's house. shrug

It's always hilarious!

I don't have cable anymore, so I haven't seen it in years! Of course, it started in Minneapolis so it was on a local crappy station before it was optioned for a cable station and went worldwide.

I got to see it before it was cool! wink

I.

WORSHIP.

THIS.

SHOW.

MST3K is my favorite program of all time. I'm still trying to get all the episodes on video.

I met Mike Nelson at a book signing last summer and he was the nicest guy you could imagine. He took questions from people before he started signing books and was just as hilarious as he was on the show.

I curse Sci-Fi for cancelling MST3K and not giving it the support it deserved. evil

When I first started posting on the Org, I'd made an avatar of the MST3K guys "watching" UTCM and it was funny how many orgnotes I got from people wanting to know if MST3K ever actually did an episode where they watched UTCM. lol

*sigh* RIP MST3K cry
