Jamica Me Crazy. How do you like you Keurig coffee maker? I bought one on sale for $80. Three things that are drawbacks: It brews a small amount. Even the mug setting dispenses only about 6 oz. at a time. If you want more, you have to reset it and possibly add another pod. Coffee is not hot enough. I have to put the cup in the microwave to heat it up to steaming. Price of the pods is rather high compared to loose grounds.

I like it because I like to add alcohol to my coffee. I'm not a huge coffee drinker which is why we bought this. I like the donut shop coconut mocha with a shot of baileys.

If your Keurig is only brewing 6 oz, it needs to be descaled probably. Or maybe there is sediment in the k cup needle. Unplug your brewer and use a straightened paperclip to insert into each of the three holes on the needle. To descale, fill the resevoir with white vinegar and brew regular 8 oz cups with no k cup in it till it says it needs to be filled again. Then fill it with water and brew the 8 oz cups with just plain water till the resevoir needs filling again. Do this twice.

If you brew the hot chocolate or Chai teas, you really should not leave the empty k cup sitting there. Also if you use the k cup adapter that allows you to use your own ground coffee, this can clog the needle holes.

I've had a Keurig for a long time. I won the Keurig Vue last year and use that now. No complaints. It allows you to brew hotter and also it adjusts for what you are brewing. For instsance, 10 oz of hot chocolate won't be watery.

Occassionally I still use my French press if we are out of Vue cups, but I would never go back to a regular coffee maker. No way.

The Lake and Lodge by Green Mountain is pretty good if you like dark roasts. For medium roasts, I like either Donut Shop or Green Mountain Fair Trade Columbian.

Thanks for your advice, but I think I have one of the older models. It's the "Classic," which has two cup settings, one for a regular tea cup size and the mug, but the mug only brews a small mug, not a 10-12 oz. I've only had it about 3 weeks, so it's relatively new and does not need descaling yet. I use it once a day in the morning for my morning cup of joe.

I was in Costco yesterday and they had the one that brews the larger mug. It also came with 60 vu cups. The price was $129.99. That may have been a better deal, but I'm too thrifty to spend that much. Mine didn't come with any vu cups though. I've tried the Donut Shop and the mocha, which were nice, too. Oh, and I also found a way to reuse the vu cups with my own grounds, and it worked fine. I'm just wondering if mine will last longer than a year. I've read several reviews on Amazon, and a lot of people complained that theirs died after 6 months to a year. If mine doesn't last more than 6 months, I will be pissed!

The best cup of coffee I had was made in one of those cheap big Waring percolators. I was at a brunch, and the hostess had a caterer. The coffee he used was no name brand, but I swear, that was the best cup of coffee I ever had. The Keurig doesn't even come close, but it makes a halfway decent cup of joe.

We got both a Keurig and a Verissimo machine this Christmas. The Keurig isn't perfect but it's 1 million times better than the Verissimo IMO.

The Verissimo does nothing right. The lattes are barely drinkable and it's the messiest machine I've ever used.

I like a milder coffee and add flavor thru creamers (hazelnut and french vanilla are my favs).

Donut House seems to work just fine for me.

They sell an 80 pack for $36 at Costco.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
