Question about Homebirths

Have you ever concidered having a midwife to assist you through labor? How many choose to have a homebirth rather than a hospital birth?
Were any of you born at home?
I am not pregnant, but when the time comes, I would feel safer at home than I would in a hospital where they bring the sick.
I am curious to know what the majority of woman are doing these days.
Peace!

Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I went for the happy medium.

When selecting someone to assist with the birth of my daughter, I chose a Nurse-Midwife.

These women are compassionate to the feelings of the mother, both before, during, and after the birth of your children. They are certified and assist with the birthing of your child in a hospital.

I used no medication, and everything done to me was the same as if I were had I delivered at home. The ONLY difference was that I was right there in the hospital if anything occured that required immediate attention.

I would recommend a Nurse-Midwife. biggrin
