Last year, Winter completely skipped over most of Michigan. The average high was like in the 50's the entire season and I think we only had measurable snow once.
This season, we still haven't had very much snow but this week we've had pretty fridget temperatures. But, considering the fact I practically roasted every day from March thru September, I'm not complaining. This past Summer was like hell on earth! "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! It was a -19F/-28C windchill when I went to the bus stop this morning. I missed my bus by about 10 seconds and had to wait for the next one. This is the kinda morning I hate winter. |

i feel indifferent about winter as i know it's necessary for the planet to take us through seasons to restore and regenerate life on it's surface. (mind you i am not a cold weather type of person - but oh well.) i luv the seasons in this order:
1st. autumn - for the colors it brings and the awesome sunsets 2nd summer - for the wonderful warmth, the beach fun, quiet lovely evenings and outdoor concerts 3rd spring - for the new (re) birth of life, flowers, baby birds, rainbows and people bursting out after the cold season.
4. winter has it's major challenges, but then so does life [Edited 1/24/13 11:40am] “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

Come live in England, the Seasons never change, It just freakin rains all year round
Hell, we had two weeks of sun lat year and the authorities where shouting a drought..............Then it freakin rained for the next 8 months
Though we just had some awesome snowfall, though everyone is moaning at that now...... Life is short, don't be a dick.

I love autumn and winter, the weathers pleasant, its cool but not cold and days are long and bright enough for outdoors activity.
What I don't like is summer, bone dry conditions, 27 degree heat everyday (80f) that feels like 100 with no airconditioning and 90% humidity. What else long sunny hot days that make your house feel like an oven, and the sluggishness it ensures. Plus we have flies like you wouldn't believe even with two spray machines, cans of fly spray (Not looking 4wd 2 cancer ) we are still getting the little bastards.
I wish we had snowy cold winters, sound like fun. Here our winters its like 16 in the daytime and 8 or 10 at night, (50s and 60s for those of you using 18th century measurement systems) and theres more rain and absolutely no snow or any chance of getting it. So called reports from 2011, were those, so called. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Its currently 28.5c with clear skies and almost no wind, we have had 9.2mm of rain this month (thats about 1/3 of an inch) and it feels like Arizona here, no relief, February is the hottest month.
Americans and British, its our equivalent of your Late July heat here at the moment. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

winter makes no sense, harsh and dark
autumn is decadent and boring
spring is a pointless long-ass transition
so, summer all the way!

I totally agree. There is nothing on earth worse than being too hot and having pretty much nothing you can do about it.
Ideally, it'd be autumn all year round. [Edited 1/24/13 18:36pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I love winter, but I seriously need a break right now. The humidity in my room is beyond annoying and I'm constantly getting sick and shit. I need to move the fuck out.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
yup...agreed.
so much easier to get warm than it is to keep cool.

I use to live in Massachusetts.
I hated the snow and the sheets of ice that would form when the snow melted around 1pm and froze at around 4pm.
I am much happier now living in New Orleans and I will never move north of Atlanta EVER again unless their is HUGE money involved.
Another thing is that I suffer form huge bouts of depression. I feel so much better when I am in a warm place. It may be the length of days or just that I get out more, but clearly my mood is lifted. LOL, We have winter 2 days out of ever week in December, January and February as far as I can tell. It is more of a late fall compared to Massachusetts.

just have to say that I have this particular bird feeder. keep an eye on it. after the squirrels swing it around and get the seed level down the little birdies get inside and need to be rescued. winter is probably not my fave. nice to see the sun today after about two weeks of socked in fog and freezing temps.
