Alejandro Razo, a Southern California nurse, has been accused of committing a sex act on a corpse at Sherman Oaks Hospital, authorities said Monday, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Officers were called to the hospital Sunday night, where security guards had the 61-year-old Razo in custody, LAPD Lt. Andy Neiman told the station.

"The call indicated that a deceased patient had somehow been violated by an employee of the hospital," Neiman said.

The Reseda, Calif. resident was placed under arrest on a state Health and Safety Code violation, CBS Los Angeles reports.

"It's a very sensitive case because you're dealing with somebody who is deceased, who's a loved one of somebody... so it's our job to fight back for them," Neiman said.

An act of Necrophilia in the state of California is considered a felony. If convicted, Razo faces up to eight years in prison.

Razo was released from jail on $20,000 bail.

A longtime neighbor, who declined to be identified by the station, said Razo is a quiet man with a wife and two children.

Investigators are continuing to investigate. Lt. Neiman said.

2. What hospital would they hire a man 4 years away from being a legally considered senior citizen as a nurse?

It's my understanding that he'd been employed with the hospital for a long time. Yes, suspects found guilty of necrophilia should receive sentences greater than 8 years. Gross!

I can't even begin to imagine how his wife must feel. Lord only knows how many corpses he's had sex with over the years and then he comes home and has sex with his wife afterwards???

I remember watching this TV show where this guy was being accused of murder. What had happened is they found this dead woman in a abandon building. They tested her with a rape kit and it came back positive for semen. They found the guy the semen belonged to and brought him in for questioning. It turns out he didn't kill the woman. He found her dead and decided to have sex with the body... Talk about depraved.

They did find the real killer though.

The woman was in her 80's. The only thing that should be talked about are hot and cold temp wise.

I wish there were a way to ask this question without seeming like a complete weirdo, but...

Barring the absence of consent, why is sex with a corpse so particularly horrible?

For the record, I'll say I also think it's pretty . But I'd like to consider how and why we arrive at the near total consensus of that fact. Any opinions?

At least he's having sex with humans and not animals - that's more depraved, IMO.

Hmmm.....interesting.

If I was in a room with Halle Berry's corpse (and she's all cleaned & foxed up), would I do it to her? Maybe I'd feel her up, but no intercourse, lol.
