When Armstrong won 7 straight Tours, my first issue was I suspected no other member of his team was expected to actually compete for the win, just to protect him.

When the allegations of doping came about, I was not surprised. I mean, during my lifetime, there've been steriods scandals in college football, pro football, and MLB. In the wake of McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds, how could ANYONE be surprised that a cancer survivor "used" to come back? Not just to win ONE, but SEVEN? It's possible to do so "clean," but improbable. But tje allegations were never proven so suspicions remained just that.

SUPRMAN, RodeoSchro and others nailed it. Lance didn't "take care" of key witnesses to protect himself. Lance destroyed his, with the money and goodwill he amassed during his improbable run.

If Canseco could tell the truth, so could Lance's competitors, even if they had dirty hands.

THAT's why people have issues with him. Justifiably so. Even those who used and spoke out -- and their families -- didn't deserve that treatment.

Just read Robin Williams said he now feels betrayed by Lance's lies... he'd been defending the nincompoop since the allegations first emerged.
