Really?
Here in New Zealand, they seem to put fast food restaurants more frequently in the poorer parts of town. In Auckland, you will only find McDonalds in shopping malls and shopping streets in rich areas or on an arterial road that may be a bit run down.
In Remuera and Epsom, two very rich suburbs you can not find a McDonalds, yet in a ghetto suburb like Otara and Mangere theres at least 3 in each suburb.
The true arbiter is KFC, you will not find any KFC's in anywhere but ghetto suburbs like Otara, Mangere, New Lynn, Glen Innes etc. Theres no KFC's in central Auckland and the fact that Carls Jnr opened their restaurants in the suburbs of Glen Innes, Mangere and Otahuhu is a sign they are directly targeting the urban poor in ghettos. (Here in Auckland these are Polynesian Pacific Islanders and Maori). They eat a lot of this food and much more than Europeans do.
These areas are also plagued with poverty, street crime, poor educational attainments, low employment and the streets are lined with loan sharks, pokie machine bars, $2 junk shops and ethnic eateries blasting rap, reggae and ethnic music.
Yet in a rich area, no fast food joints and the shops are antique places, nice restaurants, craft stores, accountant and lawyer practices and cafes. Its a known fact, the Junk food restaurant owners choose poor areas with high numbers of Polynesians and 3rd world refugees. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Even in the U.S. you see more McDonalds located in poor areas--that has been their strategy for a long time...all over the world... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Chancellor said:It's like this Folks....It's not that Ronald McDonald's customers are Trash it's the fact that some of you might live in a Trashy neighborhood &/or area. They'll put up a McD's anywhere and on any side of town that's good for bizness... If you move to a nice part of town you get Fresh Fries and Nice Customers. You move near AL & Peg Bundy and you get what you got. No, not in Brooklyn where I live (or alot of NYC). This area is about the most diverse you'll find anywhere. Pakistani, Jewish, Indian, Hispanic, Asians, Russians, Blacks all call this neighborhood home. The food offerings around here are as diverse as the people. But I never see the Pakistanis throw their garbage on the floor when leaving a Pakastani place. Ditto for Russians, Jews, Mexicans etc and those restaurants. It's just the pants dragging lowlife trash that eat at the Mcdonalds who routinely throw empty bags and wrappers to the ground, in my guestimation because they were never raised properly. Their parents never showed these scumbags how to behave like a human being.

Until recently our main McDonalds in Queen Street (Which was in an 1880s bank building) was the big hang out for bums and deros (derelicts), they would sit out the front and beat each other up get drunk. Then they would harangue people at the entrance and because it was a huge store with coves and wings and shjit, they panhandled all the times. Honestly you could not eat there, as the deros were dirty and spat and often swore at each other.
They were left tehre as they always threatened to waste you, and one of their party would buy a 99 cent item (Like small fries or a coffee) and therefore they could be moved on as they were paying customers. The rubicon was crossed when a homeless Maori started smoking Marijuana in the restuarant and several guys walked up to him and started beating him up. And also several defecated on the seats
One guy came up to me and started rapping in my face and said things like "Give me money fuckhead" and the 4ft 6 inch tall chinese staff were petrified of them (Nearly all tall, stinky, bearded crazy people and unfortunately always non white). Then what happened the police increased their street patrols, they opened up the restuarant, put in a McCafe and bought a 7ft tall Samoan Body guard in. The deros went and now you have difficulty finding a table to eat at!!!!
So do you guys have homeless people in McDonalds restaurants too, making them hard to sit in. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

My guess about trashing the areas where you live and eat:
You don't like the area and it is a silent protest. Usually people trash the property where they rent and not where they are an owner. You may not like the landlord. I was walking along St Charles Street in New Orleans. It is notorious for being a very well to do area. I walked by this apartment building and there was trash everywhere. It was probably an expensive place to live being that it was right in the Garden District. The houses/ mansions around it did not have trash infront.
With McDonalds it may be the same thing. It is fast and instead of people thinking ahead they just walk into the McDonalds, and think cheap. As someone said, it isn't all that cheap. They get angry at the quality, cost, etc. However it is their choice to buy there to begin with. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

This thread reminds me of a jingle that my cousins and I used to sing waaaay back when we were little:
McDonald's is your kind of place They feed you rattlesnakes Put pickles between your toes Ketchup running down your back You better get your money back Before you have a heart attack!
Don't like McDonalds, because as others have said, their food is trash. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

THANK YOU! That shit pisses me off big time. I live in a relatively nice townhouse community in suburban Maryland, but the road that leads to the entrance to the community is a dead end street. There is not one day that I don't see at least 5-6 fast food cups and wrappers littering the street. I HATE THAT CRAP! I have even gone down there with a wheelbarrow and pick up tongs to clean up the mess. I have found liquor bottles, beer cans, dental floss and even nasty ass used condoms. Dirty, stinking muhfuggahs. I think it's the teenagers who live in the community who just drop their wrappers on the ground while walking home from school. The liquor and condoms are probably dumped by filthy ass ingrates who park on the dead end street at night to and
But to answer your question, it's because Mack's is cheap and the people who generally make a habit of buying the food are young and or poor. I rarely buy Micky D's anymore. I'll get a taste for their fries once in a blue moon, but even they don't taste like they did say 30 years ago when they used tallow to fry the fries. Yeah, that shit would clog your arteries in a heartbeat, but it sure did taste good. Even the burgers were better because they used pure beef without all the shit they add to it now. Hell, I remember when you could get a cheeseburger, fries and a shake for like 35 cents. Yeah, I'm an old ass broad. I think back in the 60's a cheeseburger was something like 15 cents and fries were 12 cents. The shakes were made from real ice cream, too. I'm sorry, but back then, that shit was GOOD!
I found this link: http://www.examiner.com/a...ob-the-60s
It's an interesting read if you want to know the history behind McD's food preparation and prices. Yeah, I remember when the sign under the golden arches read "Over 1 Million Sold!" [Edited 1/27/13 15:32pm]
