So...this was an interesting (alcohol-fueled) discussion I had recently;

How does going out and picking up a girl (or guy) at a bar...spending a load of cash on drinks...to get in their pants once, COMPARE with hiring a call girl for the night?

One Night Stand; the girl (or guy) may be doing the same thing OR may want to pursue a relationship with you. If it's the former, then only the fact that money is changing hands really makes a difference. If it's the latter, then you're being deceiptful to get a piece, and taking advantage of someone (as opposed to a hooker who's just doing it for cash).

If it's a money issue...well you spend ALOT of money sometimes to wine & dine that person to hopefully get a piece...so you're technically "paying for sex" in a way.

I think this conversation made more sense with Tequila.

Personally, I wouldn't do either one. Both run too big of a risk of inviting STDs into your life, especially when you're dealing with prostitutes. The only standard they have is your cash must be green. And please don't say if you use protection, you're okay. I ain't never heard of someone giving protected head. Never quite understood men who enjoy being with prostitutes. It seems to be quite popular.

Both are great, the Captain has had lots and lots of both. Hookers are defintely cheaper. $20 , no muss, no fuss (well some muss) and you don't have to think of any excuses to leave. After a little haggling to see if she'll take coupons, you can leave the street corner or ask her to leave the ride and you're ready for the next adventure.

A one night stand takes investment. Conversation is required and while the Captain is an expert in many areas, it is a lot of work. Pulling out chairs, chowing down on the 2 for 20 at Chillis, saying her hair looks pretty and stuff. And then if she wants to take you home to her double wide, you have to think of a reason to leave later. A lot of times, I will ask my wingman Admiral to call me and say stuff like he is calling from the hospital and I'm needed for an emergency heart surgery or that he's from NASA and that trip to Uranus has been moved up. He's immature like that, still laughs when he says Uranus. I mean it is pretty funny but still.

So I have to go with hookers here.

The difference is that one night stands are mutually agreed one time hook ups, and prostitution involves sex-power exchange. The person with money is paying another person for the use of her/his body and you just never know if this person (the prostitute) is being forced to sell sex.

I don't do either one but I think one night stands are wayyy better. At least no one is taking advantage of anyone.

A one night stand might actually want to have sex with you, and more importantly, she probably has not already had sex with several men that evening

This thread should be made a sticky as most prostitutes the Captain has had the pleasure of meeting were kinda sticky.

I've never bought a prostitute and never will. I've had endless one night stands and have never spent a dime on them. I've had assholes say things like "Why don't you buy me a beer" to which I reply "Why don't you buy ME one". If anyone is going to be the whore it's going to be me, not the other way around. I could never live with myself if I was someone's trick. I don't waste my time on conversation and buying things either because many of these motherfuckers out there, I don't even like. I just cut through the chase from the moment I'm approached and asked "How are you doing" to which I reply "Looking for some dick".

Sometimes I'm a tad dishonest with hookers. I usually either tell them my name is John Longstocking or sometimes I tell them I'm Admiral and that it was my first time and sometimes they give me a discount. Sometimes I tell them it's my birthday and I get a little something extra. Of course sometimes they are not completely honest with me, like about having crabs and such, so I guess it works out.

I find it sort of funny how women are once again expecting the men to buy them drinks in clubs. It wasn't really like that ten years ago when things like, you know, feminism still mattered to some.

I have no problem with spending a bit more than my female counterpart on a night out, but I'm not afraid of simply saying "the next round's on you, woman!".

I don't like splitting bills, however. Paying should be as undramatic as possible.

Women don't have sex with men on either a one night stand OR someone they're dating because you bought them a drink or dinner or both and they now "owe" you something. It is not an exchange. Through the course of the evening they found themselves attracted enough to sleep with you by choice.

Women don't owe you anything and they most certainly don't owe you sex, ever.
