Afraid of Happiness? Have you ever felt at any point in your life that you were afraid of happiness, conciously or subconciously? Almost as if you were wary of any sort of positivity in your life, for reasons only you could understand or perhaps didn't even know? I know it's something others must feel as well, I was just curious to know how it affects or has affected your life or any progress you have wanted to make. I'm about to embark on the most exciting yet stressful time in my life yet I feel more apprehensive than excited... I'm eighteen, moving to Europe where I am orginally from, it's almost too good to be true. Yet I just got out of an emotionally draining, nearly four year relationship. I also have been dealing with recent health issues that have left me even more depressed. I just feel stuck... I know what I have to do and know that the future is so promising, it's simply hard to accept such changes... Thoughts? And together we'll stare into silence.

Good for you!
I understand what you mean. Have the same thing. I'm always looking for the catch, always search for what is not good about it.
I learned that is not a good strategy. Enjoy good things while they last serves you way better.
Everybody experiences though and painful things in their life, nobody has 100 year of just sheer luck, health, wealth and love. So, enjoy the good parts and during the bad parts, just realize that too shall pass.
Just smile and enjoy every minute of all these good things happening to you.
And tip: stay happy, so stay out of relationships for a few years. Learn to make yourself happy, by doing things that make you happy. Don't settle by making others happy. You can do that later on in life, when you become a mother.
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Are you sure that you're not just afraid of the change in your life?
In any event...try to maintain a positive outlook in everything that you do.

a lot of people have mixed feelings about success/happiness. partly, there 's the 'what's next after this" factor, partly there's the fear of falling even farther down if we fall, because what goes up also comes down, in life.
having doubts about your upcoming move doesn't necessarily mean that you should cancel your plans, even if they takes you out of your comfort zone.
a lot of life is not knowing what will happen when we take the next step, and that part never really gets easy, imo.
good luck to you, sounds like you have a cool adventure ahead. take it easy, and enjoy
