Agnes Nixon, the creator of “All My Children” and “One Live to Live”, two of the longest running soap operas, made the announcement on Friday Jan. 4. on her Facebook page. Prospect Park Productions will bring back “All My Children” and One Life to Live” via the Internet.

In her statement, Nixon said:

“Dear Friends, We did it! Here is the statement I am about to release to the press. I am so please to share it with YOU first. This could never have happened without your unwavering support. With deepest gratitude, Agnes.”

The statement Agnes Nixon released to the press says:

“We of the One Life to Live and All My Children families are thrilled to bring our beloved viewers new, ongoing stories from Llanview and Pine Valley. I’m overjoyed that so many actors you love have voiced their desire to bring their characters back to life.

Fans of “All My Children,” which aired its last epis...r 23, 2011, have been disappointed several times over the past 16 months with conflicting stories that the soap was headed for a reboot on the Internet. Negotiations between Prospect Park Productions , SAG-AFTRA, DGA and WGA had broken down and it looked as if neither “All My Children” nor “One Life to Live” would reboot as Internet soap operas.

Recently, as the expiration date for the rights to both soaps loomed nearer and nearer, fans began to hear reports that both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” would be returning, possibly to cable or the Internet.

Rumors of Susan Lucci being in negotiations with Prospect Park Productions soon followed. Then news that Vincent Irizarr... to return to “AMC” as the devious Dr. David Hayward was released. Fans are hoping other beloved “AMC” characters will find their way back to Pine Valley, Pa. Debbi Morgan (Dr. Angela Hubbard) was recently let go as “Harmony” from “The Young and the Restless”. Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard) recently saw his character “Sarge” on “Y&R” reduced to recurring status. Could the Hubbards be headed back to Pine Valley? Fans would love to see their favorite soap super couple Dixie and Tad Martin reunited and returned to Pine Valley.

Many actors from “OLTL” were moved to another ABC soap opera, “General Hospital” after “One Life to Live” aired its final television episode ...y 13, 2011. Fans hope that when “OLTL” reboots on the Internet the beloved characters will make the move back to Llanview, Pa.

I won't be happy until I see the shows back and just what they're like. Prospect Park burned a whole lot of people when they just suddenly dropped the ball on this deal a couple of years ago. Many of the actors and actresses had to move on and find other work and getting them back isn't going to be all that easy. Sure they my be able to pull a few but the dynamic that made the shows great and worth watching for so long is going to be altered and that's not going to make the loyalist of fans forgive and forget.

Anyhoo...I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I really do hope they pull it off this time but I'm reserving any excitement until they actually start producing something because the last time around they had stars signed up, bought the sets and wardrobes, had people signing up to the website that the shows were supposed to be on, only to drop everything the very week that OLTL finished taping, leaving the actors and the fans twisting in the wind. That's not my opinion, that's fact.

So my thoughts on Prospect Park are "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...well, you don't get to do that twice."

You can take that full of shit condescending attitude of yours and cram it. Soap opera stars, writers and producers are a lot more open, honest and communicative with their fans and supporters than a certain someone who this board was named after and they're very forthcoming with information about what's going on with their careers and the genre of soaps on the social networks, message boards, fan sites, in the soap magazines, at fan events and more. So I know a hell of a lot more about what went on then and what's going on now, than you do, Boo!

I doubt it! Unless U are an actor & have been in front of the camera & done deals behind the scenes. That's different than some fammy autogragh session listening to gossip.I know more about this then U think I do. I would never create a thread about something I'm clueless about. Seriously, some of these soaps should thought about jumping to cable years ago, before the plug was pulled. The "Soap Channel" should been approached to see if it was feasible to run current shows along with the reruns. I never thought soaps would be apart of morning TV, really I think the silly plot lines, poor writing, and going for Ken & Barbie instead of people who could act hurt their brand. If Nixon is able to pull this off, I'll watch; I haven't watched the Soaps in years.
