Do you ever check out a thread that you think you want to post in...

...read what other people have said and the be like, "oh, shit. maybe I should just stay out of that one."

See, I was just in the self image thread, and I thought I had a perfectly valid comment to add to the conversation at hand. But when I started reading what everyone else had to say I thought otherwise. I felt like maybe what I had to say wasn't important. Maybe it wasn't, I don't know, deep enough. Or maybe it was just that I didn't think it would do any good for the people in that thread who I'd like to say something encouraging or helpful to. Because I'm actually rather fond of a couple of them.

Anyway, I almost posted this in there, too, but I didn't want this to take away from that thread, either. lol

Edit: Self image.

I do that frequently. I'll have something in mind, realize the threads taken a completely different direction and then I don't even bother.

That said, I think you should post whatever you want. I generally enjoy your posts. smile

Well thank you. I think you're probably in the minority in that regard. lol I used to do a lot more posting whatever I wanted. It tended to not go well most of the time. lol

I don't even mind taking a thread a different direction sometimes. But I don't want to kill it, and I don't want to accidentally make light of something other people are clearly struggling with. That was the case with the thread in question. I think the comment was valid in the context of the thread. It just felt, I don't know, too dismissive, maybe, so I hit back on the browser and let it go.

lol Nah man... well, I'm sure I deserve a good fish slap for something. What I was going to say was actually very positive. But when I read what everyone else had already said, how some people had clearly poured out some stuff that was meaninful and important to them, my comment just felt too slight. Too easy. Eh, fuck sticks. I can't really find a better word than "dismissive", which was not at all my intent.

There's another one here right now where I thought for sure I had something to say. Then I saw a person I consider to be pretty damn intelligent post something, saw where that was leading and went, "errrrrr! (brakes) I'm outta here!" lol

Yeah, that pretty much defines all the "War on Christianity" threads over in P&R.

But I still post in every War on Christianity thread, if only to tell those warriors that I love them!

Yes, half the time I am on page 1 and the thread is on page 5. Sometimes it's that way in real life, too! confused

Depends on the subject. I pretty much go ahead and say what I have to say and be damned. I avoid topics that don't interest me and stay away from forums that bring out the lunatics, like religion.

Cool. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who suffers from this affliction.

I think I'm just going to use this thread to post all the things I wanted to post in the others, but thought better of.

Like, it's amazing how many of the names I recognized in that AMC/OLTL thread. lol

Lately I've noticed that I'm completely ignored in threads started by one particular poster. At first I thought it was my imagination, but she's been skipping my input, to reply to others on a regular basis. I guess I offend her.

Whatever... lol

I feel that way sometimes myself, but not toward any one particular poster. Some can be downright rude, (you & I have agreed about certain ones), and I don't want to hear what they have to say anyway, so I just keep it moving. As I get older, I tend to be a bit crotchety my damn self, but I try to be respectful to all. However, I do get a tude if someone attacks my opinion just to be smart-ass. But again, I try to just ignore it unless I really get the ass and then I will fire back with both barrels. Fortunately, I haven't gotten that angry, yet, but I would have no problem telling the offender finger you and the horse you rode in on.
