If you want to discuss politics comparing the attitudes of different continents towards the LGBT community perhaps move it over to P&R: otherwise, please know that violent discrimination against gays can also happen in the United States in the backwoods, back alleys, and back waters of America. Keep in mind the Matthew Shepard Act (which covers the LGBT community under America's original Hate Crimes Act from 1969) was only passed into law under President Obama during his first year in office in 2009---just a little over 3 years ago. Even so, I still would not want to be person of any minority caught in certain neighborhoods or homogenous regions in the US- where attacks against them include people just looking the other way and sweeping these hate crimes under the rug. Intolerance towards the LGBT community is worldwide and not restricted to one continent, least of all Africa when we have our own hate crime issues (as neatly contained as they are) in the good ole U.S. of A.

This thread would've made one iota of sense if the car stint actually HAPPENED but it didn't and why compare the alleged situation to the fucked up one occurring in African countries concerning the welfare of gay folks? Fuck this, your attention-whoring ass is getting reported.
