Director Steven Soderbergh took to the stage at the 78th Annual New York Film Critics Circle Awards, recalling that one time on the set of Magic Mike when an extra got "friendly" with Matthew McConaughey's butt-hole.

Steven was presenting Matthew with the award for the best supporting actor for his roles in Bernie and Magic Mike when he shocked the audience with the bizarre ancedote.

"While we were shooting Matthew's script sequence, one very impassioned woman extra pulled his G-string off and tried to stick her finger up his butt," he said.

"And when I remembered that, I thought, ‘You know, where I come from, you stand up for a guy who brings that kind of game to your movie.’"

The actor who plays a stripper in Magic Mike then explained what really happened.

"I don't think she was trying to stick her finger up my butt," he clarified.

"She was trying to put it somewhere, though, and you got it on film. It worked out," he joked

43-year-old Matthew was looking exceptionally gaunt after losing almost 18kgs for his role as a drug addict in his latest flick, Dallas Buyers Club.

Reminds me of a Kiwi All Black Rugby (Regbee in kiwi) player who used to love to shove his finger up the opositions back passage at every oportunity......t was a strategy for putting the opposition off their game........I dont think anybody liked it.................
