Watches, left or right... ...or does it even matter. There use to be an etiquette about it but I forgot. Bored, noticed one of my favorite actors wears his on the left, noticed another favorite actor wrears it on the right.

Right handed on the left, left handed on the right but whatever. I used to wear several Swatch watches on both wrists & a few as a necklace LOL Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

face on the inside of the wrist or the outside? I always place the face on the inside to protect the glass. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I wore my watches on the outside as the face is the nicest part of the watch & I've never cracked a crystal. I haven't worn a watch in 10 years, my cell phone replaced my watches. Watches are obsolete but I do love them. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

I remember my grandmother, may she rest in peace, going through this with me once, there use to be a standard. But it stood out on this particular actor since he never wears any jewelry or accessories, now it's become a sort of focal point with others. Unfortunately I can't tell the brand, I'm noisy though.

I just told you If you're left-handed the watch is worn on the right wrist, right-handed on the left. A watch is worn on the non-dominate arm Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

Watches are made to be worn on the left arm, the stem is easy for right-handed people to wind while wearing the watch. But whatever feels comfortable to you is the rule I'd follow XOX, S. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

ACTUALLY they do make watches for lefties, with the stem on the opposite side.
Check out the Invicta watches which they sell at really good prices on shopnbc.com

I was kind of wondering if there's a cultural difference too.

Haven't worn a watch in over ten years. Seems silly. My phone, IPod, Ipad keep track of time when I'm out and about. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I've not worn a watch for about 7 years. They also seem pointless to me anymore from a functional standpoint. But I recently got my hands on a vintage WWI trench watch from Switzerland, and I'll be rocking it as my nerd version of bling.

I'm a lefty, and when I do wear a watch, it's always on my left wrist. Anything else feels weird. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I love watches. I don't wear gold, I don't have tats...but I always wear a watch.
...and I find it quicker to look at my wrist for the time than to seek out my cell phone from whatever pocket it's stashed in. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I just got a new watch as a Christmas gift. Wearing a watch is still a must for me. I'm not chained to my phone so I actually don't always have it with me. Also, when I'm giving tours I think it would look really tacky to pull out my cell phone to see how much time we've used. I can discretely look at my watch and not break the conversational vibe.
I follow the old rules -- I'm right-handing so my watch is worn on my left wrist. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Are you calling my beloved silly?
Anyway, I don't wear watches because of a personal tick, but I now love the convenience of having a couple of devices with me everywhere I go so I always know what time it is. But I know some sticklers for punctuality wear watches regardless, I've hardly ever seen this person without a watch.

I am right handed, so I wear a watch on my left wrist. I wear alot of bracelets on my right wrist. I only wear a watch when I am at work or going some place and need to be there on time.[Edited 1/14/13 9:41am]

I just started wearing watches again and not tell time, more of a fashion accessory. People will sometimes ask me the time and I give them a confused look at first until I remember that I am actually wearing a watch I wear mine on my left side, I tried the right side but it seems to get in the way when using a mouse, which I use all day at work. ...I just started wearing watches AS an accessory.
Before it was all about telling time.
Now it's about the way they look.
My buddy got me into Invicta watches. Got my first with a case that holds 8 of them.
Gonna fill up that case.
This is the next one I have my eye on...

Used to wear it on the left (I'm righthanded), but haven't worn one since cellphones became small enough to fit in your pants pocket.
