RG3's Injury Wishing the best for RG3. Epic FAIL by the Washington doctor. He should have overriden the player and the coach and taken that kid out after the first quarter. It was clear Griffin couldn't protect himself.
Saw this on another site;
Sources close to Skins camp say RG3 has torn ACL& PCL & will not play for a min of 14-18 months [Edited 1/7/13 14:28pm] |

I watched some of his press conference yesterday where he stated he was going to play Hell or high water, he gets half the blame in that debacle . Mike might not have been wrong after all in drafting two quarterbacks but if the injury report is true then they are fucked over for the next few seasons. Jeux Sans Frontiers |

People are critizing this dude so much. He's only a rookie and look at wat he's done. He's just gotta become more responsible with his body. If he keeps progressing he could become the greatest no joke. Compare his rookie season to that of tom brady, peyton manning, steve young ect.. and ull see non of these guys compare. Also, the guy is amazing especially calling tony romo after the cowboys lost to console him. He's been a good role model and an excellent player i wish him nothing but the best the redskins are perphaps one of the weirdest franchises in all football but they have shown us that they want to win and i could definitely see them winning a superbowl or two in the next 3 -5 years. |

I'm not sure who it is in this case, if the coach overrode a doctor, or if one doctor overrode another doctor, but there is DEFINITELY SOMEBODY on the team who has the power to say, "no, you are not playing". It's not up to the player, period. The player is an employee and in the end he does what his employers tell him to do. Whoever it was who misdiagnosed or just allowed themselves to be talked into letting him keep playing should certainly be held accountable.
Dude must have a seriously hight threshold for pain, though. He came walking back out on the field after the game and he never looked that hurt. I've seen basketball players with the same injury not even get up off the court. |

I'm pretty sure this was Shanahans fault here, looking at the sidelines during the 3rd quarter the doctor looked like he was crying, I doubt he had the power to overrule anyone. I dont understand why they didnt pull him, it was pretty obvious that the knee injury was greatly affecting his throwing ability. If they had put Kirk in mid 3rd quarter its very likely they would have won. |

RG III better get with Adrian Peterson's doctors AND rehab specialists if he wants to get back to playing football again.
Just saying. |

Or get a transfusion of his genes. Or get hooked up with his HGH connection. |

Apparently coach and player overrode the decision of the doctor, who did not want RG3 out there and the doctor backed down.
At least that's the way the spun it on the morning news. Now some are calling for Shanahan's head for endangering the franchise player and the franchise itself.
I still don't know why there wasn't a roughing the passer call on the play that happened before the injury took him out.
I do not want this kid to end up like McNabb and Vick. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. |

This whole injury episode definitely falls on Mike Shanahan. What I didn't like in the lead up to this game was the fact that Shanahan threw the team doctor under the bus by claiming he gave the go ahead for RGIII to play in the game when he clearly did not. Having said that, Shanahan was probably under a lot of pressure to get RGIII to play in the game since it was their first playoff appearance since 2005 and their first home playoff appearance since 2000.
And RGIII himself has to be a little complicit in this, knowing he was hurt but playing anyway. Then again, how many elite athletes are going to voluntarily say they aren't ready to play in a game if they can at least stand up, especially a playoff game? Every player worth his salt has a warrior mentality, and they will do anything they can short of the head coach benching them to get in the game. Heck, even when the Philadelphia Eagles were in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, Terrell Owens had seriously injured his knee and was not cleared by the team doctors to play in the Super Bowl; nevertheless, he ignored their advice and suited up for the game, and even went for over 100 yards receiving in the game. Now Andy Reid could have stepped in right away and benched T.O., but he apparently thought he gave them the best chance to win the game. Shanahan basically rolled the dice with RGIII and eventually crapped out in the fourth quarter, but had the Redskins won we would have been hearing about how courageous Shanahan and RGIII were in leading the 'Skins to victory even while hurt.

No one wants to lose their job in the starting line up like Alex Smith. |

Huey, totally agree. But when he saw him getting worse as the game progressed he should have pulled him.
TVD, true, but in fairness, if there was somebody as good as Kaepernick (or Smith, for that matter) in line behind RG3, he might not have played at all. |

Agree with all of the above but at the very least Shanahan should have taken it one quarter at a time, right?
And I still say that the play where they did not make a roughing the passer call was key even though it did not directly affect his injury. They should have kept him out after that play IMO. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. |

Why does he wear a glove? I´ve searched for an answer on Google but couldn´t find a satisfying answer, only his Michael Jackson joke from some time ago.
Also...what exactly happened to him? How serious is the injury? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" |

Well said.
Now he has to avoid the temptation of believing he is AD. The pressure to be ready to start in September is only going to build, a year after seeing Petersen incredible return. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |
