Batman VS X-Men VS Spiderman

My three favorite superhero franchises. Never got into Superman. What is you favorite?

- Taking into account everything including villains, movies, cartoon series, comics, video games, etc.

Batman, best movies, best villains (probably tied with Spiderman for this), best T.V. shows, best changes in plot (recent Spiderman comic anyone), oh and who could forget Batdance smile

X-Men. When you can have Magneto & Namor taking orders from Cyclops you know it's going to be good! I love that there are goody goody X-Men(like Storm, Kitty Pryde & Iceman) then there are some with questionable ethics (like Gambit, Fantomex & Frenzy) and then you have straight up heroic/villain types running around(Emma Frost, Magneto & Magik). The only thing they need to do is lock Wolverine in the Danger Room and never let him out. He's ruined a lot of good storylines with his flawed ethics. Some of the movies could've been better but I still enjoyed them. As for their villains gallery they have they craziest in Marvel (Sinister, Apocalypse, Mojo, Arcade) not just the old run of the mill "conquer the world types" or "get rich schemers". Their enemies are certifiable!!!

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I disagree. Wolverine is the one of the greatest anti-heroes of all time. Granted, he can be overrated at times in the superpowers department (self-healing, that's it?!?). But as a character, Logan/Wolverine has been through more drama in his lifetime than any of the other mutants in the Marvel Universe, given that he is older (right after Apocalypse & Mystique) than all of the surviving mutants.

I used to like the character until he got all sanctimonious when it suited him. He didn't want young mutants becoming soldiers under Cyclops but you continue to run a death squad. He's quick to try and put down any X-Man he's felt crossed a line but hasn't imposed that sanction upon himself. Remember he tried to kill Rachel(Phoenix) for going after the Lords Cardinal. I think he lost me when he started being more of an Avenger than an X-Man.

Why end there? Wolverine at first wanted to kill Hope Summers to prevent the return of The (Dark) Phoenix. But the incident of Captain America having Wolverine thrown off the Avenger Jet was enough to convince him to reconsider. But doing things "the Avengers' way" like Iron Man's f***-up idea of shoting the Phoenix with a laser brought about a much better problem known as the Phoenix Five.

But even before the AvX storyline, there was already an obvious fact that Cyclops was being too much like old-school Magneto VS. Wolverine becoming an anti-hero version of Professor Xavier, hence the real reason why Wolverine started being more of "an Avenger in X-men clothing".

X-Men.

It's really close between them and Batman, but I have to give X-men the nod.

The "Origins" reboot made me forget the abortion that X-Men III (The Last Stand) was. nod

Spiderman could beat Batman. Spiderman is near superhuman strength and has spider sense to avoid any of batman's gadgets. However, Spiderman seems to hold back too much.

Batman would also lose to wolverine.

but that is not really the question: as far as debth of charatar: Batman, he is the everyman.

I dig the X stuff. It thrives on ever growing rosters of characters to explore, an active effort to represent a diversity of humans (and non-humans, as it were), and really thoughtful sociopolitical allegories in its story arcs. I've always been fascinated, too, by the depth of literacy that underpins the franchise's psuedosciences and cosmology.

just looking at the movies:

x-men

good movies: 1,2, and first class

bad movies: 3 and wolverine

batman

good: batman, batman returns, batman begins, dark knight

bad: batman forever, batman and robin, dark knight rises

spiderman

good: 1 and 2

bad: 3 and amazing

i also think while batman has stronger villans than x-men, x-men has some really awesome heros. batman just has the one.

i also find the x-men storylines more interesting

x-men for me
