I realize people do reallyw ant ot make a change and all that jazz. But i think when someone has a resolution they should make it then & not wait for new years just cause it's the first of the year.

Just today the gym was alreayd packed with new people signing up that will probably be there a few weeks tops . even my personal trainer says they hate thsi time of year cause a huge group flock for training then bounce out.

Anybody else seeing their gym getting packed already?

I'm not sure if my gym was packed today or not because I didn't go, but I will be there tomorrow bright and early since I've been eating like a pig during my break off from work.

Usually the gym is packed like sardines throughout January and February...with the traffic starting to trickle down by the beginning of March. Then things go back to normal.

It means two to three weeks of inconvenience for gym rats.

I go to the gym before or after work to do my business quick and leave. And i know i will have to wait for weights & bikes now

The worst is some people sit on the bench and text for 5 minutes & bench like 3 times & text for 5 more minutes.

When I was hardcore, I used to complain about the same thing!

A new gym opened in my town, and I am going to join... I left my other gym over a billing dispute. I stopped going because of it, but I need to get back. it's been too long. I guess people will say that about me.

Well it's not like i go and notice every new person

But i won't lie it will be blah.. cause i go to the gym late after work & usually n one is there. But past few days it's been packed & i like to get in, get out & go home

Same shit happens at my gym every January. We get a bunch of new members who have no idea what the fuck they're doing. The majority of them don't have the discipline to stick with the program. Working out has to be a lifestyle change, a part of your daily routine. It's not something you do for a few weeks, then forget about until next New Year's Eve. Usually they disappear around March. Good riddance.

Yeah I went to the gym this morning and it was exactly as I expected it to be. It was the normal crowd when I went in, but by the time I left it was getting packed...same shit, different year.

i think i'm going to buy some gym equipment for home use. no competition, and if it's sweaty, it's *my* sweat. better for everyone concerned.

My gym raises the rates a couple of months before New Years, and then lowers rates a couple of months after. Well, offers limited time specials until October.

I go back today, hope its not any worse than it usually is! My zumba instructor is very popular, he has lines out the door all year long!

Don't worry - they'll all be gone in a month.
