I just noticed you have West and Oscar Robertson above Timmy?

Duncan has more titles and MVP's than West and Oscar combined. There is really no argument that can be made to put O and West above Duncan, none. lol

Lebron James will eventually be in the top 10

and bump Hakeem off the list.

You're 100% wrong, but I forgive you. You just don't realise how badass The Big O and Mr. Clutch truly were.

I know how bad ass they were and all that badd-assness led to 2 combined titles and one MVP for Robertson. lol

Almost. My list would look like this:

1. MJ

2. Magic

3. Bird

4. Wilt

5. Olajuwon

6. Kareem

7. West

8. Oscar

9. Lebron

10. Kobe

Duncan, Pippen, Shaq and Bill Russell were all very good players but I wouldn't put them above any of these guys

Three of these guys at the bottom are definitely top ten players.

Duncan has 4 titles and 2 MVPs in 8 seasons.

Shaq has 4 titles and an MVP in 8 seasons

Russell has 11 titles and 5 MVPs in 11 seasons.

West, Oscar and LeBron do not belong here. LeBron will be here, but not yet.

I'm giving West and Oscar props based on reputation. I never saw them play. Same with Wilt. I left Russell off because my impression of him is that of a very good role player like Dennis Rodman only better. Those Celtics teams were loaded. With those guys I admittedly can't assess how good they really were.

Duncan simply isn't better than those other guys listed. I remember him getting schooled by Dream and dominated by Shaq. He was very good but people/the media hype him because he's unassuming and just goes about his business. Shaq had glaring flaws in his game so I didn't include him.

Lebron has been in the league for what-- 8, 9 years? He's been the best player in the league for almost that entire time. He's at 9 on my list now working his way up.

Then again, George was from an era where having a true center on your team still matter and he never had that.

Reputation, what's more reputation than 4 tiles in an 8 years span and back to back MVP, for Tim Duncan? What else do you want from him. lol

Bill Russell a role player. A role player doesn't win 5 MVP. Before Russell, Celtics won zero titles. After, they won 2 more in the mid 70s due to the NBA being at it's weakest.

Duncan never got schooled by Dream, or dominatyed by Shaq. You must be confusing him with his teammate David Robinson.

LeBron is top 25, but not #9, too high. In ten seasons he has one title after piggybacking Dwyane Wade.

Sure, Bill Russell filled a role -- Most Valuable Player of the (and I'm about to throw up in my mouth a little) greatest dynastic era the sport has ever seen. Without him, Boston might have 10 banners, not 17, and that's being generous.

Duncan simply isn't better than those other guys listed. I remember him getting schooled by Dream and dominated by Shaq. He was very good but people/the media hype him because he's unassuming and just goes about his business. Shaq had glaring flaws in his game so I didn't include him.

I don't remember Duncan getting schooled by Hakeem, who was on the downside of his career when Duncan was entering the league. As for getting dominated by Shaq . . . who didn't in the late 90's and early 00's?

Lebron has been in the league for what-- 8, 9 years? He's been the best player in the league for almost that entire time. He's at 9 on my list now working his way up.

He's been the best player in the league for maybe 4-5 of those years.

I love Big Fundy, but he's not out of the top 10 now he will be within 5 years.

LeBron is top 25, but not #9, too high. In ten seasons he has one title after piggybacking Dwyane Wade.

Wade was a shell of himself for most of the 11-12 title run. LBJ is top 20 now, conservatively.

Whoa.

I only see a few mentions of the great Dr. J (Julius Erving), who in my opinion could easily top the list.

He was really the first to exhibit extreme elevation, hang-time, and spectacular dunks.

In fact, the phrase "slam dunk" originated from Dr J being the first to make it an art. Previous to him, all dunks were by the big men from low post as a sign of domination.

Michael Jordan owes Dr J quite a bit of thanks and respect.

Dr J was my childhood sports hero.

'Nuff said.

I don't know about "easily" but the argument could be made.

Elgin Baylor was quite the high flyer before Doc.

Chick Hearn was reportedly the first to use the phrase, was Dr. J playing when he used it first? (I'm really asking). I'd always thought it originated with Kareem.

Michael Jordan owes Dr J quite a bit of thanks and respect.

Before there was Jordan, or Magic or Bird for that matter, Dr. J was the high-flying rock star of the NBA . . . "Heeeeyyy Dr. J! Where did you get those moves?" Dr. J, not Jordan, put the Slam Dunk Competition on the map. MJ does owe him respect as a forbear. As do Kobe, LBJ, Durant, et al.

Dr J was my childhood sports hero.

He and Muhammad Ali were the first sports stars I knew.

I did, and I'm telling you, these cats were incredible. Both are NBA immortals, right up there with Wilt, Jordan, Russ, Kareem, Magic & Bird. Just look at what Oscar did, night in and night out(in a more physical NBA). Not his fault he played on bad teams most of his career.
