I personally disliked the movie, I think the movie is being overhyped because it's a Tarantino movie and it's a movie with a black hero that kills whites. But in all honesty I'm kinda on Spike Lee's side here, this period of history is not fun at all. If we reversed it and had a black movie director making this movie, it wouldn't even have made it to the cutting room. Slavery and the mass killings of native americans in which this movie is based on, was not a fucking joke and the way it's done is just crazy to me, try making a movie about the holocaust and you would never work in Hollywood again. Allowing to make fun of a part of history that most of us have been forced to forget, because it was "a long time ago", is not good for future generations. But if I'm going to rate the movie, I think it's a very uneven story and I think the first half of the movie is much better than the other half. Some charathers are not likable and you don't get to know them enough (even though it's a LOONG movie), I think Leo DiCaprio,Christopher Waltz and Samuel L Jackson did a good job, I wasn't impressed by Jamie at all. I usually hate westerns though and this is not an exception, I hate that Hollywood wants to revive westerns and cowboys again... Ugh... 2/5

The part where Django blowed up the moth-munchers was kinda funny.
