Bloody hell!! That creature must be absolutely starving!! If that child had been any smaller or lighter that bird would have been away with him. How utterly terrifying. See, u should always keep yer eye on yer weans & never turn ur back on them. He was sitting a little too far away from his parent for my liking.

If it's fake, it's some really nice special effects! Is there a better quality version?

Those big ass eagles take down relatively large animals all the time.

A couple of summers ago, I was at the beach with my two dogs and a Bald Eagle was circling over my little dog. We eventually had to go because it was getting closer and closer to swooping down to try to snatch my poor little oblivious doggie.

I am not sure if the video of the golden eagle picking up the baby is fake or not. I didn't even know golden eagles were present in urban areas in Montreal. However, it is not far-fetched for the golden eagle to hunt big game. Starting at about 4:55 in the above video you can see a golden eagle hunting a goat. Some Mongolians have also trained the golden eagles to hunt wolves and foxes. These things are beasty.

An eagle snatches a toddler in Montreal and drpos it as shocked adults race to help the child.

Stunning video from Canada purportedly shows a golden eagle snatching a toddler sitting in a park, but questions over the clip's authenticity grew as quickly as its online views.

Now, it appears the amazing scene at Montreal's Mount Royal Park was indeed fake.

A design school in Montreal, Centre NAD, posted on its website Wednesday that both eagle and baby were "were created in 3D animation and integrated in to the film afterwards."

The video, uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday, was "made by Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin, students at Centre NAD, in the production simulation workshop class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design," the posting said.

The school also assured nervous parents their child was not at risk for being plucked up by a massive eagle.

In the video, a soaring eagle swoops down on a child while his caretaker's back is turned. The massive bird picks up the child by its winter coat, flying several feet before dropping its prey.

The video, complete with a panicked cameraman and the cries of a toddler, logged about 1,400,000 views in less than 24 hours.

But with the amazement came scrutiny over the video's shadowing, editing, and the authenticity of the uploader.

The eagle carried the toddler for several feet before dropping the baby to the ground.

“When the bird swoops down, its shadow pops in one frame after it does. And for one frame, and one frame only, around three seconds in, its right wing becomes transparent,” writes NewStatesman blogger blogger Alex Hern. The name of his post is “Literally unbelievable video.”

Other online skeptics pointed out that Centre Nad has a "hoax the internet" exam every year.

It has been a busy week in Canada for weird animal antics. The eagle video comes days after photographs surfaced of a monkey wearing a sheepskin coat wandering around the parking lot of a Toronto IKEA.

After having been picked up and then dropped by an eagle, a shocked toddler looks up at adults before starting to cry.

Golden eagles have a roughly six-foot wingspan and can fly at speeds of more than 150 miles per hour. Though they usually hunt small animals, they can fly with prey heavier than their own weight, or around 15 pounds, according to National Geographic Society.

Amen! I was saying it had to be a hoax cause as a parent, seeing a big ass bird swoop down and pick up my baby would have given me a heart attack and a stroke. lol

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
