despicable statement

But nevertheless, a true statement.

Be a winner. You have it in you. This I know for a fact.

porn is for losers when it becomes a substitute of reality

but as a complement of reality, it works...

Your first statement is right on the money! Your second statement isn't, though. No one should need porn in order to make love to someone. If they do, it's a sign that they watched too much porn already.

Was it you that once said you were addicted to porn at some point in your life?

Maybe it wasn't...it was either you or that BlackAdder dude. Can't remember.

No, it wasn't me. But I did watch porn when I was younger. Thank God I realized what it would lead to, and swore it off.

The further hypothesis seems to be that the individuals that are addicted to Internet porn spend a lot of time (per day, month etc.) in an aroused state and that affects their memory.

Not that it's explicitly stated in the article itself. Neither do I know myself if that's true or not, but it doesn't seem as silly to me as the writer wants the readers to think it is.

I do find it interesting when these types of studies zero in on the sexual side of things.

In this case it's about sexual arousal as opposed to arousal in general, because addictions like the one I listed do create some sort of arousal response in the brain. Common sense would tell someone that it's really more about the effects of an addiction in general not a specific addiction. But hey, what do I know...I'm no German Scientist.

But I do wonder...is the study really just anti-porn propaganda?

I don't think you are wrong. I could see e.g. computer games having similar effects in the long run.

However, I doubt it's really anti-porn propaganda. Just a very limited study that is probably just one part of a greater number of studies done in the same university or in other universities.

In any case, the writer really does just seem to want to entertain the readers by misrepresenting the study itself quite considerably.

From what I could gather from other news sources on this issue it seems like it has already been observed by other scientists that some people with an Internet porn addiction have had problems with their memory (the sources could be interviews, clinical data etc.). This study in question merely offers some additional information on the issue. It doesn't intend to "prove" that "watching porn causes memory loss".

I don't give a shit about any goddamn study

I don't give a shit about the dangers of any possible addiction

I'M BEYOND THAT SHIT, nothing can control my will, I'm beyond that shit, I play in a whole different level: porn, chicks, alcohol, cigars, games, you name it, I know how to enjoy that stuff on a moderate basis and I sure know when to fuckin' stop...

yeah, I roll like that, I'm tough as hell, I'm the real deal, no shit can control my mind/will, even the good/feelgood shit

there's nothing, absolutely NOTHING in this fuckin' world which could led me to an addiction

fuck

Yes I'm probably a total prude to not be into porn but there's nothing within pornography but emptiness IMO. I've never really followed the crowd ie some of my female mates who do enjoy it with their partners & I don't like to be involved in discussions about what they've seen. To me it is not based on love, therefore it does not nourish my spirit, therefore I won't subject myself to it. It's highly addictive & I'm not sure where all your thoughts & energy go when ur focusing on some random naked flesh bumping & grinding. I can see the appeal for some; the instant turn-on & gratification, but please there's more to sex/love making than that. Defo not my cuppa tea. Plus it's too easily available on the tinternet to minors. Only destroys that beautiful innocence that can never be retrieved. I just find it minging. I value my soul more than that, for it was bought at a very high price, & frankly it deserves better.

you're obviously watching the wrong kind of porn

have you ever tried porn directed by female directors?

more than a prude, I think you're too spiritual, and I mean TOO spiritual...

beautiful innocence??? that's why 10-12 year old kids are always trying to steal/buy a dirty magazine, right?

GOSH, I'll NEVER understand this pointless flesh vs the spirit debate, if God didn't want us to think about the flesh of our fellow humans, HE would have made us asexual, like plants...
