Bull. lol

I don't watch porn and my memory is slowly fading away daily. Somebody took some research money and thought up some shit while sipping cool drinks on a Caribbean Island. "Hey Joe, we've blown the research money, we have to come up something to prove we've done some research." lol

TBH the only thing I saw from those results is that some men are so sexist they're more likely to forget they've seen a woman before after seeing her bare breasts/ass

The hypothesis that sexual arousal interferes with cognitive functions doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

It's hard to tell from such a short article if the study really was as "silly" as the writer suggests or has it more to do with the way its presented in the article itself. The objective seems fairly modest ("The researchers are hoping the findings will help psychologists and psychiatrists understand why Internet-porn addicts miss appointments and forget to sleep.").

I'm pretty sure an argument can made for any type of internet based addiction (gambling, gameplay, etc). Not too sure it really is all about sexual arousal interference, I'd say it's probably more about addiction.

The further hypothesis seems to be that the individuals that are addicted to Internet porn spend a lot of time (per day, month etc.) in an aroused state and that affects their memory.

Not that it's explicitly stated in the article itself. Neither do I know myself if that's true or not, but it doesn't seem as silly to me as the writer wants the readers to think it is.

watching porn can cause

-a healthy prostate

-newfound respect for women and their sexual desires (yes, not at all porn is misogynistic)

-improved sexual relationships

-a healthier, slender body (since it burns so many calories)

I do find it interesting when these types of studies zero in on the sexual side of things.

In this case it's about sexual arousal as opposed to arousal in general, because addictions like the one I listed do create some sort of arousal response in the brain. Common sense would tell someone that it's really more about the effects of an addiction in general not a specific addiction. But hey, what do I know...I'm no German Scientist.

But I do wonder...is the study really just anti-porn propaganda?

Bad guess. I don't watch porn and I'd rather not ever have to kill a frog.

Frog killing is, however, justifiable.

Watching porn is for losers.

There is indeed a very strong sentiment against porn these days. More and more websites dedicated to fighting porn addiction are popping up on the internet.

http://yourbrainonporn.com/

http://boldanddetermined....rnet-porn/

But, to be honest, I don´t really know whether I should take those anti-porn believers seriously. As far as I´m concerned those folks who are addicted to porn would also easily be addicted to any other stuff that gives them a good feeling, like ice cream, potato chips, videogames or gambling.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
