I don't like raisins, either. But the lovely thing about making fruitcake is that you can use whatever kind of fruit you like. You just look at how much fruit the recipe calls for in total (a pound or whatever), then use any kind of dried fruit or candied peel.
In my Christmas pudding, I usually use dried cherries, cranberries, blueberries, pears, dates and figs. No raisins. No apricots. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |
