Don't you get ANY TV programs in other languages? confuse

We have this piece of brilliance love

it's a free to air channel called SBS

http://www.sbs.com.au/

I hardly watch anything else. All foreign language programs are subtitled.

Sometimes I plug the iPad into the TV using the SBS on demand app and catch up on or watch again things I like

But I figure not ALL orgers are from UK or USA, so this might be running on Dutch TV

Someone must have seen it! : razz

Looks VERY interesting. I must admit I´m still living in the stone age as far as modern TV is concerned....I´m not really familiar with all that satellite, TIVO, big screen, app etc. etc. stuff and I´m in desperate need of a technology update lol but I guess I´ll have to find a way to somehow watch this on some internet site.

Totally unrelated but did you watch that little indy film called "The Bothersome Man"? It´s a very weird little film ( I think it was an Icelandic/Swedish co-production). Part science-fiction, part mystery...interesting little flic I watched on some website not too long ago. Has a little bit of that IKEA look going on ....but in gray. lol

Check it out.

Sure, spanish, cause I'm right next to Mexico. It's a whole big issue with air space frequencies rights and stuff in these parts. So unless one is willing to pay through the nose you get what you get, they're not giving anything away unless it's local and barely then. You all is an island that might make it easier, no borders and stuff to worry about who's crossing into who's space. I guessing.

so in the US, there is no channel devoted to quality programming from around the world? sad not even cable? (I don't mean dedicated single language channels)

I don't know anything about air space boxed

I can't speak for every city, cause these issues are just regarding this area, I have no idea what mid-America gets, free in the air. I did say if your willing to pay through the nose, ie, as in cable, so yeah, there are other language channels but it's extra I'm sure. But in just reading about this show, some other company is having to buy the rights to play it in Britain, so something is up since they're closer you'd think they'd automatically get it.

LONDON -- U.K. shingle Kudos Film and Television is to develop a remake of what it hopes will be another high-profile Scandinavian TV drama, Swedish sci-fi skein "Real Humans."

Both the format and international rights to "Real Humans," produced in Sweden by Sveriges Television (SVT) and Matador Films, have been acquired by Shine, which owns Kudos.

Who wants to sit and look at a bunch of subtitles week after week.

And Wilfred works, even if it is different.

I wish these would come out as semi-intelligent androids one day in the near future. They´re pricey and I bet the android version would cost A LOT more but hey, it´s modern technology.

I would say that accurately representing the cultural mix in Sweden has been attempted. The series doesn't seem to be solely set in a big city and rural populations tend to be less diverse.

From the 2 episodes I've seen, there are different price points for Hubots. The cheapest ones (in the blue tractsuits) are manual labour types - good for cleaning, yardwork, factory assembly line etc. They are cookie cutter production line models that are all the same looking.

Then there are the DB artisan range - I don't know so much yet, but they look unique - each one different (like cabbage patch kids). These ones come in all "colors".

These cast photos I've posted - not all of them are human (characters)!
