Delay, delay, delay. As a defendant you are more likely to receive a better out come or a not guilty verdict if you can delay your trial. Evidence goes missing, witness move away or can't be found, memories become a little bit foggy, and multiple changes of trial judges can affect a trials outcome.
In Mr. Kelly's case, the young girl who was supposedly called to testify (now a grown woman) denied she was the girl or victim on that tape. If you don't have a victim you don't have a crime. Case closed.
