I don't lol

Interesting they have proof it was suicide but they're not releasing the contents. Must be royal orders.

If she wanted her note to be kept private, it should be. Investigators could use it to press charges without actually revealing the details, at least until the trial. It is probably a very personal message.

I'm pretty sure it's common practice to not report details of suicides, unless the family gives the ok.

If it was my mom, I sure as hell wouldn't want anything to be released.

Autopsy results on nurse in hoax due out Thursday

LONDON (AP) — London police say the result of an autopsy on the nurse involved in a prank call for information about the former Kate Middleton's hospital stay will be revealed Thursday.

Scotland Yard said Wednesday the cause of Jacintha Saldanha's death will not be released until a Westminster Coroner's Court hearing.

Saldanha took the call when two Australian disc jockeys rang up the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated for severe morning sickness. The DJs, who were impersonating Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, later broadcast the call.

Saldanha was found dead Friday. Although police have made no connection between Saldanha's death and the prank call, people from London to Sydney have been making the assumption she died because of stress from the call.

so did she hang herself? i still haven't found any info to confirm this. eek

Jacintha Saldanha, pranked in Kate Middleton radio hoax, may have been dead for a while

The 46-year-old nurse at a central London hospital had taken a call from a pair of Australian deejays pretending to be members of the royal family checking in on Kate. After the prank made headlines, Saldanha's body was found in her apartment three days later. Reports say she hanged herself. It's still unclear when she may have died, but she reportedly left a suicide note.

Ben Barboza, the husband of Jacintha Saldanha, a former nurse at King Edward VII's hospital who was involved in a hoax call concerning the Duchess of Cambridge, arrives with family members at the Houses of Parliament on Dec. 10.

As investigators piece together the final moments of Jacintha Saldanha, the British nurse who died in a suspected suicide after a radio prank on her employer made headlines, new reports indicate she hanged herself — and may have been dead for a while.

Saldanha, 46, was found in her apartment Friday morning, in quarters where other nurses from King Edward VII’s Hospital in central London also reside, the London Evening Standard reported Wednesday.

Her husband, Ben Barboza, who lives with their children in the city of Bristol, was reportedly unable to get in contact with his wife for two days. He had a friend call her apartment last Thursday — the night before she was found dead — but hadn't heard back, according to the Daily Mirror.

London authorities have yet to officially confirm how she died or tie her death to the royal family-related prank. The results of an autopsy are expected Thursday.

“The family should be given the full facts," Keith Vaz, a member of the House of Parliament, said Tuesday. "That’s what they need at this time."

According to reports, Saldanha penned a suicide note, which might be the only scrap of evidence explaining why she would have killed herself. Her family, including her husband and two teenaged children, reportedly didn’t know she was involved in the radio stunt.

Saldanha was the senior nurse on duty when a pair of Australian shock jocks called the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 4 posing as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. She patched the call to an unidentified colleague, who ended up telling the deejays about the health condition of mom-to-be Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge had been admitted earlier for severe morning sickness. She was released the following Thursday, a day before Saldanha's lifeless body was discovered.

By then, the prank had stirred up intense controversy, and outrage developed over invasion of privacy concerns for Kate and husband Prince William.

Saldanha’s heartbroken husband and two children visited the hospital and met with Parliament officials Monday to demand answers about her death.

Her family and friends in India told CNN that she was a devout Catholic who moved to England a decade ago to carve out a better life. She had been working at King Edward VII’s Hospital for four years.

“Jacintha was loving and caring,” the Rev. Sister Aileen Mathias told CNN.

The women trained together at the Father Muller Medical College in Mangalore in the 1980s.

“She would share her bread, coffee and sweets with the patients,” Mathias recalled.

"She was very religious. She will pray for the patients," Mathias added. "Both of us will pray together for the patients."

Saldanha never forgot the school, and she went there last year to donate money for patients who couldn’t pay for treatment, according to CNN.

The nurse was also remembered as a serious student, and enjoyed sharing laughs as well. The possibility that she would have killed herself surprised her former classmates.

“I was shocked to hear that. She was not that type who would do that,” Nathalia Martis, 46, told CNN.

“She was very good, polite, but a very bold girl,” Martis added. “She was always ready to face any kind of a situation.”

Saldanha’s brother in Mangalore said her family wants to bury her body in India.

“Ben (Jacintha's husband) has not been allowed to see the body,” Naveen Saldanha told The Times of India. “We are also under tremendous stress of what is happening there and are worried.”

He added that their mother has not been told of his sister's death, and they are “planning to slowly break the news to her."

"We have told her Jacintha is very serious, and mother has been praying and has also asked us to pray for her good health," Naveen Saldanha said.

He also disputed previous reports that his sister may have felt ashamed for unwittingly taking part in the prank.

“We are somehow coping with the loss,” he added.

Mel Greig (r.), 30, and her co-host Michael Christian, 25, insist they were devastated by the death of Jacintha Saldanha.

King Edward VII's Hospital said there were never plans to punish Saldanha, whom officials described as a "first-class nurse."

Meanwhile, Australia's communications authority is deciding whether to launch a full inquiry into the prank call.

The owners of 2Day FM in Sydney deny they broke any laws, although the hospital claims the station never spoke with them about the stunt before it was aired.

The station has since suspended the deejays, Michael Christian and Mel Greig, and canceled their show. It has also started a donation fund to help Saldanha’s family.

The biggest thing about this that bothers me is that she had two young children and she did not even leave them a note telling them how much she loved and adored them When a mum dies like this she always leaves a note for her Babies explaining - giving them something to hold onto just so that they know!!!! I actually agree with Titty she may have been killed neutral

She did leave a suicide note, but they haven't released details of what it said.

Coroner: nurse in British royal hoax found hanging

LONDON (AP) — A nurse who passed a hoax call into the hospital room of the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge apparently killed herself three days later, with a coroner's officer saying Tuesday she was found hanging by the neck and a detective saying she left three notes.

Coroner's officer Lynda Martindill said nurse Jacintha Saldanha was found hanging by a scarf from a wardrobe in her room by a colleague and a member of the security staff at London's King Edward VII Hospital last week.

Police detective chief inspector James Harman said Saldanha also had injuries to her wrists. He told the coroner's inquest that three notes were found in the room. Police have said there were no suspicious circumstances, meaning nobody else was involved in Saldanha's death.

As well as examining the notes, he said police were interviewing her friends, family and colleagues and looking at emails and phone calls to establish what led to her death. The case is being treated as an apparent suicide.

Saldanha answered the phone last week when two Australian disc jockeys called to seek information about the former Kate Middleton, who was being treated for severe morning sickness. The DJs impersonated Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, and Saldanha was duped into transferring them to a nurse caring for the duchess.

Australia's media watchdog, the Australian Communications and Media Authority, said on Thursday it was launching an official investigation into whether the radio station, 2DayFM, breached its broadcasting license conditions and the industry code of practice

Coroner Fiona Wilcox opened and adjourned the inquest until March 26.

I think the officials should not release the notes, but release a statement saying if the hoax was or was not involved in the suicide, just to stop speculation.

First let me say that my heart goes out to Jacintha and her family. Having a loved one commit suicide is devastating. I hope they'll be able to cope with this tragedy.

Now concerning why she may have committed suicide(if in fact she did).

It seems terribly selfish if she committed suicide solely because of the prank call. I sympathise with her embarrassment but you don't destroy your own life and potentially destroy the lives of your children because of being embarrassed. I do understand that people become despondent and do things at the spur of the moment but still... Her actions just seems disproportionate to the event.

Who knows though. There could be more to the story and it doesn't do any good to be hard on Jacintha. The poor woman took her own life and that's tragic.

I think that whole prank situation is indicative of how selfish, self centered and disrespectful society has become. That whole media/fame whore, paparazzi, tabloid, prank culture has been outta control for a long time. Personally Ive never seen the humor in any of that shit.

As for the DJ's. Spare me with that crying bullshit. Although I don't think they're responsible for Jacintha's suicide they definitely should suffer some consequences.

I have no problem with them being fired and humiliated.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

I thought Morrisey's rather lengthy discussion with a reporter about this were very interesting. Otherwise, I don't have much to say about it.

Nurse Suicide
Report: Hospital Criticism
May Have Triggered Suicide

Breaking News
1214_nurse_london_hospital
The nurse in the Kate Middleton hoax may have hanged herself in part because the hospital came down on her hard ... this according to a new report.

The Daily Mail claims to have a source connected to the nurse's family, who says in one of the suicide notes the woman, Jacintha Saldanha, is critical of the hospital for the treatment she received. The story does not flesh out whether the treatment is connected to the hoax, but it appears to be the case, given one of the other suicide notes which reportedly describes how she tried to cope with the fallout due to the prank call.

So the question ... did hospital management come down on the nurse hard? A hospital spokesperson claims hospital management was supportive, but they are not privy to what she wrote in the notes.

As for the third note, the report claims the nurse laid out plans for her funeral.
