Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser Trailer

Summary:

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Lawd, would I ever love the bad guy to be Khan.

However, Kirk doesn't actually meet Khan until a few years later, right?

And this guy says that "I have returned" meaning that Kirk has had some aquaintence with him?

Either way, did anyone notice the ship that crashes into the sea is of a retro design? I'm curious about that.

Some speculate that the main antagonist is the legendary Khan. As of now, the role of the actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, is unclear. Should be a blast either way, count me in!

Some say it's the guy that was given god powers....I can't remember his name.

The last abominatio...movie changed the whole universe. Vulcan was destroyed. So who gives a fuck if Kahn had not met Kirk yet? Nothing matters, it's all just about explosions anyway.

Loved the trailer. Can't wait to see the movie.

I've heard Khan, Soran or Merrick (I think it was) kicked around as the main antagonist.

I'm firmly planted in denial

Didn't really like any of the Star Trek movies. Not enough coherence, too many exaggerations in characters, too much bombastic hollywood shit and not enough of what makes the series so fucking brilliant.

The Next Generation, DS9, Voyager and the latest series are brilliant, though.

I'm assuming this is who they're talking about. At least that's what first came to my mind. When James was R. instead of T.

Man, if I was in2 posting pics of myself on here I'd definitely post a picture of me in my TNG uniform circa 1993 age 17! Ha ha I used to wear my Star Trek communicator on my jacket DAILY...you know, just in case I was ever beamed up aboard NCC1701-D ha ha ha. Nothing to do with the fact I really fancied Mr Data or nothing! lol

When I met Worf (Michael Dorn) at a comic store in the city I told him how my mum was secretly in love with him, which made him laugh & say "We'll doooo'nt tell your Dad!" Or the time I sneaked in2 a convention quite the thing without paying & right in2 the hall where Nichelle Nichols & the actor who played Hugh, the nice borg, were taking questions. Bold as brass, in front of hundreds of paying fans, I got the microphone & managed to ask him a question. Ahh, I pure loved my Trekkie adventures! lol

Not in the earlier shows, I don't know what the R. stood for though. Didn't notice it until fairly recently when I saw it written on Kirk's headstone from the above episode.

I detest the Star Trek francise, although I do quite like the original series. I did really like the 2009 film though, and I'm looking forward to this one. Trailer looks OK, but go here to watch it properly and in HD instead of on youtube.

Yes, and supposedly it was only "T" until one of the movies. The TV show never said what it stood for.

That episode has a few kinks to work out, most notably, Spock's smile in the chess match, and the uniforms.

I still think William Shatner should have done the closing monologue for the 2009 movie, that would have been perfect, Nimoy was okay but Shatner would have been the gold star. Just my twocents

I did notice Spock smiled in a couple of the earlier episodes it was kind of weird in hindsight. But I guess those earlier "mistakes" do give the newer stuff some leeway.

Nimoy was the worst thing about the film I thought. I know his presence is crucial to the plot, and he didn't do a bad job, but the entire thing (and yes, the plot) seemed contrived to get that Hey-Look-It's-Spock as a way of somehow validating the entire project.

I was Spock this year for Halloween and I'm way past 17...I even bought a tri-corder, lol

I have never been to any conventions or anything but I do have a huge crush on Michael Dorn.

There had better be a story line worthy of the franchise and not just a bunch of explosions or I'm gonna be very upset.

The one with the glowing eyes in the pics above. I think it was the third episode shown, but it was the first one filmed (with Shatner) after the original pilot episode with Cap't Pike and the big headed guys

The gravestone initial is easily explained. The guy who inscribed it asked Scooby Doo what Kirk's middle name was, and he was told "Rye-berious".

'Where no man has gone before'. I think that's the name of the episode. Where the man (and woman) started developing godlike powers and he started acting like an ass.

Someone from the original crew had to pass the torch and since Nimoy and Shatner are the only ones from what's suppose to be the friendship 'trinity' left, and Shatner wasn't happy with something (I'm not sure what) Nimoy had to be there. Besides someone from the original shows always makes an appearance to the new ST groups except Enterprise (I think, only seen a few episodes of that).
