I can't say that I've ever been turned off by something like that Everyone is attracted to different things. If I'm into someone, I'm only interested in if they're into me as well |

This is like the Seinfeld episode where Jerry was turned off by his girl because she dated Newman(!)
But to answer your question, "yes" I've had the same reaction before. And yes, it is a little shalow, but comically so.
I didn't think about the Seinfeld scenario, but yes, that's a great example. Another Seinfeld episode that fits this situation is the one where all of them go to see "the baby" at the beach house and the doctor described Elaine as breathtaking. Initially, she's thrilled until he described the baby (who's ugly) the same way.

.....OR maybe its that "ol skool" thing where a man doesn't want to know about any ex a woman had because he doesn't want to picture any other guy "messing up her coochie" but him.
I have dated men that could not handle knowing any information about my exes, it would turn them off.
No, it's not that I simply don't like the idea of someone I'm with having a past, although I've been guilty of that line of thinking on occasion. This isn't that serious though. I'm in a complicated situation with someone else already, but that's another story. I was just relishing the attention this woman was giving me. I guess it provided me a bit of positive affirmation until I realized that her taste in men may be questionable. Yes, he was THAT bad.
So, I guess I'm officially shallow, huh? I can live with that.

Nothing makes a man feel better than having an adulterous woman attracted to him. This one's for the rich, not all of 'em, just the greedy
The ones that don't know how to give |

You didn't know the guy, so how can you coclude she has questionable taste of men?
O. Right. Because she likes you.
Yes, I get that.
Better stay in complicated thing with the other person. Don't give that woman with bad taste for men any attention. That will teach her! Maybe that will teach her! It sure might teach her a lesson that resulsts in a better taste for men.
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%. |

I did some sleuthing on (i.e. "googled") a woman who has been flirting with me a lot recently. It's all very innocent, but I was really flattered nontheless...until I saw a picture of her and her now deceased husband on facebook. Let's just say that he wasn't quite G.Q. material. Suddenly, the attention I've been getting from her doesn't seem so special and I'm not even as attracted to her, eventhough she's very nice looking herself.
Have any of you ever been turned off solely by someone's taste in other people? Or am I just shallow and vain?
i had an ex girlfriend that thought that way... we bumped into a previous ex of mine, who wasn't beautiful in the classic sense.. i obviously found her attractive when we were together... anyway this ex had a real problem with it.. like my status went down or something
she was shallow too [Edited 12/5/12 20:19pm] |
