I listen to a lot of music across many genre's so I don't think I would mind if I dated a guy who was into solely country music or christian rap. Those are about the only two genre's I don't listen to at all (though I loved the country music in "Urban Cowboy" lol). I look at it as, that's just that person being who they are. Who am I to say "I can't date you because I'm tired of listening to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton every time we ride in your car or when I visit your house"? If the guy is nice in all other areas, then this aspect right here is something I can overlook.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yes, but rather in the "I didn't like the way you were, so I had to make you mine" way... lol

There are not many types of music I really dislike, but the ones I do dislike tend to be listened to by people I tend to have nothing in common with in general....so no, odds are I would never be with someone that had totally different musical tastes from mine.

We could have fun for about 20 minutes as long as they kept their music off and didn't spoil it by talking. But I'm not going to sit in the same room with shit hop for five minutes, let alone a lifetime. Just the sound of it spoils my whole mood.

The people who like shit hop are real easy to spot. biggrin

I wouldn't put up one minute or one song from them.

My husband and I have COMPLETELY diff tastes in music... it doesnt really come into play unless we are travelling in the car.. But we compromise and listen to an oldies station, or jazz, or something we can agree on... Been doing it for 25 plus years so yes, its possible..

~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~
I don't think I could live with someone who's taste was utterly incompatible with mine. Different? Sure.
My really hate some of my bf's favorite music but we have enough stuff we overlap with to be able to be just fine. He's less picky than me, so often my choice wins out anyway. shrug
Eh, it's more of a problem if they listen to really bad stuff and don't even realize how bad it is. I don't mind "genre" differences.
I'm a long-haired man, so chicks into heavy metal tend to be into me (someone tried to hit on me on the train just yesterday). While I listen to some of that stuff I don't really want to listen to it for hours and hours. Plus, the variety that chicks are into tends to be pretty terrible.
I love tellin' them that I am into Prince when they meet me and ask what "bands" I am into. razz
