Day before a national holiday and major shopping weekend... ...and I have to cancel my debit card because somebody stole the number while it was sittin' in my wallet. Bastards. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That really sucks. I hate cyber thieves.
We got hit to. Couple thousand dollars in plane and concert tickets to Australia. Fuckers.
Luckily, my husband & I don't share bank accounts so while he got hit, I'm still up and running.
I'm firmly planted in denial

This happened to my partner recently. We're guessing his info got stolen at a local gas station. He got his replacement card after 4 days from BOA.

And what did I do after getting off phone and email with Apple? I went to the cafeteria to buy some lunch, grabbing my debit card out of habit. The debit card that had been cancelled. So I had no money to pay for my lunch. Fortunately, I work in a place where they just took my name and extension, and told me I could pay them Monday.
Three of the four transactions have already been refunded by Apple. I'm guessing the fourth missed the transaction cutoff for today and will show up tomorrow or Friday. So at least I can leave work early and go to the credit union, file a fraud report to get the overdraft charge that was incurred refunded, and get some cash for the weekend.
What a pain in the ass. And I was really hoping to get a lot of work done today. No such luck. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The number got intercepted somehow. I'm always very careful about how I use the card - only buying from secure sites, never making purchases on unsecured WiFi or 3G connections. And I try to look for skimmers on ATMs and at gas stations, too. So it's really hard to say how they got it. But it's the second time it's happened to me. The first time, most of the purchases were to someplace in Korea - might have been gaming or porn that time.
Thank goodness, I went into my account to see if my paycheck had been deposited yet, so I could make my car payment - and saw an overdraft charge. After my initial WTF moment, I reconciled the iTunes account and my bank account - and found four charges that I hadn't made. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

sorry that happened to you. hope it gets righted with the quickness. i'm always a bit leery of using my CC online exactly because of this kind of thing, but it's the way of the world.
i'm sort of dreading the day we use 'credits' on our phones instead of CCs or currency.

Sorry to here that G, I hope they catch the MF one day. I normally just use credit cards-so if they steal the info my mortgage payments don't bounce!!
